The TL;DR is right now I only have the games I made after I created the label. I'll add all my prior stuff to there too under "older games" soon.

At the present moment, my website is basically a collection of links to my socials and major games. I do use the email features of my hosting provider for company email, which is useful.
January 15, 2026 at 8:02 PM
Perhaps that was a bit too pretentious. But my point is this: engage with the source! You don't have to be an expert in everything, but you should be able to look up primary sources for the things you need to know.
January 14, 2026 at 11:44 PM
"pulling from the aesthetics of academia without engaging with the substance" is a pretty big problem right now in general. We can abstract this further and say that people aren't engaging with primary sources as much as they should be and instead have an unhealthy reliance on regurgitated info.

Thought: Fandom spaces have developed their own definition of "media literacy" that's very different from academic spaces, which concerns me. Not because I think academia is inherently above fandom, but because fandom is pulling from the aesthetics of academia without engaging with the substance.

The game is basically done at this point (minus the game trailer and getting a build approved) and will launch in a few weeks. But I heard (from myself) that creator/reviewer/streamers could potentially get a copy of the game early.
Are you a creator/reviewer/streamer who wants a free copy of Parallel Dungeons? Send an email to ethan (at) nuvofacto (dot) com and let me know!

And say hi to Boss Baby for me.
January 10, 2026 at 8:16 PM
I haven't even bothered checking that with nuvofacto.com, but that's just because it's such a small website that it probably doesn't effect much. Plus my hosting is on a fixed rate (and very cheap,) so I don't have to worry about cost.

30% of everything, *including this scam app*!
January 4, 2026 at 10:34 PM
You might think that this is a bad faith argument. On the contrary, I think Apple is putting forth a bad faith argument in support of them scraping 30% of revenue from every piece of software that touches your phone.
January 4, 2026 at 10:31 PM
Apple: We need to gatekeep what you can and cannot install on your phones in order to make sure that only high quality apps can be on your phone.

Also Apple:
oh god. yeah, we did not make this. please report this

or, well, put a better way: we did, because the app is just a very bad, semi-functional port of the demo's arcade mode

behold original game do not steal:

RHYTHM BEAT [arcade mode]

Let me be clear.. EVERYBODY who has admin or mod privileges in ANY discord server that is even remotely adjacent to gamedev needs to @ everyone about what's going on, and they need to do it YESTERDAY. More ppl got caught up in this, coulda been avoided. Dont click links from ANYONE w/o interrogation
@rittzler.bsky.social (creator of Pseudoregalia), has had their Discord and email hacked and is linking to a virus in disguise. If you see anything linking to a game called "Furfall", DO NOT engage with it. It's not made by Rittz and isn't a real game (it's a Remote Access Trojan) DO NOT CLICK IT.

Many sources claim a certain "Jafe" sound effect in Undertale is unused. However, it is not unused and can be heard in the game's true final boss: youtu.be/l_5QZT2uCXs

If I'm not mistaken, bytes_to_var doesn't allow objects so you need to use bytes_to_var_with_object to deserialize objects. I wonder why str_to_var doesn't work the same way.

To be fair, I don't know what I would have chosen for the headline if I were responsible for writing it. But there's a certain irony in admitting that Americans don't want AI, then suggesting that it might be good in the same breath.

It's brave if nothing else.

@zaratustra.bsky.social after considering it, I have realized that I like that you delete the item used AFTER fury mode instead of before, since otherwise you'd need to remember or be reminded of what you used before.

Not a super big deal anyway, but I've grown to like how it is right now.

@dcellgames.com This is going to sound passive aggressive or whatever but I promise this is a genuine compliment: The overworld movement system in Unbeatable is *just* janky enough to be extremely funny. Truly the punk rock of movement systems.

The thing about how "pixel art was designed for CRTs" always kind of annoys me because: Pokemon wasn't. Pokemon was released on the Game Boy, which used a liquid crystal display. Nobody ever seems to think to bring this up. Drives me mad!!!

There is *theoretically* a factor of "the people who are right a majority of the time will earn more money and thus out-bet folks who are wrong" and whatnot. Though I'm not sure how much theory applies to whatever's going on with crypto forecasting.

"Products with AO ratings cannot be distributed on the Epic Games Store (the only exception is for products in cases where an AO rating was applied solely due to the usage of blockchain or NFT technology)."

This is one of the policies of all time.
