Mick Clifford: Our rivers are not the only places to have been polluted under the IFI
It seems there has been a complete disregard for the protection of rivers and lakes under Inland Fisheries Ireland, writes Mick Clifford

Cutting economic ties will have huge economic consequences like LeBov I think it is worth the pain to stop genocide of 🇵🇸 people.

Referring to events in Ballymena as "disturbances" is a euphemism too far. We are witnesses to a pogrom. And it behoves us to say so, loud and clear.

Séamas O’Reilly: Ballymena violence is the result of politics based on scapegoating any ‘other’
"The central perversity of treating these people as anything other than racist thugs is only more transparent in Ballymena because they have so few migrants that any other excuse is patently absurd."

What N. Ireland is experiencing right now is a form of state media censorhip to cover up the overwhelming level of paramilitary involvement in the far-right, white supremacist riots that have swept the North. While cameras and narratives focus on the 'youths' - the men in the shadows .. [1/n]

New Gist: Trans rights are Data rights

An unusually long Gist on the data protection implications of the UK Supreme Court's decision to define what is the meaning of the word 'woman' in a single UK Act.

The Gist: Trans rights are Data rights
A UK court has made a decision defining genders which has put it at odds with a less noticed, more important, decision from the CJEU. This is the Gist.

This is absolutely horrifying. What justification could they possibly give for strip-searching those women? This is intimidation. This is punishment by sexual assault.
“I was stripped completely naked.

“When I questioned the necessity for this I was told I would be forced violently if I didn’t comply and they didn’t want any trouble.

On Trans Day of Visibility, like every other day of the year, I continue to accept, respect and support trans people. I don't understand being trans, but - good news! - I don't have to. I know who I am better than anyone else does, and I have always found other people know who they are too. Simple.
