Looking for an adventure this weekend? Discover the stunning Atlantic coast of Mayo with our Achill Island and Clew Bay Trail.

There are few places as wildly beautiful as Achill Island, yet there are many stories to discover.

Paulie Doyle, Pat Brodie and me have written a report for @uplift.ie for their Neutrality Files project.

In it, we explain why there is such a gap between consistent public support for Palestine and the absence of any material actions taken by the Irish Government against Israel? 🧵

@endseurope.com special report: Who’s ready for the Nature Restoration Law? - shows Ireland has a lot of work to do.

Ireland ranks 12/27 for preparedness. Worst when it comes to sea area designations and one of four countries to have no management plans in place in protected areas.
NEW SPECIAL REPORT: Who’s ready for the Nature Restoration Law?

With the first key deadlines under the EU’s flagship nature law fast approaching, the task of implementation begins. But which member states are best prepared for the new law’s requirements?

A beautiful tribute to the children of Gaza murdered by Israel today. The Craftivism for Palestine crew brought their crochet blanket to Limerick. Each hand made square represents 10 dead Gazan children. Reminded me of the poem Oh Rascal Children of Gaza by Khaled Juma

An important update from Francesca Albanese, special UN Rapporteur on Palestine.

The flotilla fully complies with International Law. Any attempt to violate the flotilla’s mission is a violation of International Law which @vonderleyen.ec.europa.eu has said she will uphold.

I just asked the European Commission whether they would ask for the €50,000 back in this case, as it has clearly been used to develop a military product now contracted to be supplied to the IDF, in breach of Horizon rules.

No comment on the specific case "have to look into it", spokesman says.
Israel’s defence ministry just announced a contract to buy drones from Xtend. Its SKYLORD drone system was developed with €50,000 in EU Horizon money, which is not supposed to fund military applications. The EU grant page links to the current Xtend website, advertising its “military grade” drones

This might look extreme but it's not. What is extreme is the status quo where cars dominate.

These are the types of changes we need to see across Dublin and our other cities. Not in years or decades, but tomorrow.

If we are serious about human health, we need to fundamentally change our cities.
Pearse Street Reimagined (junction with Macken Street) — with a bus gate to limit private car access and wide, world-class cycling infrastructure. A green, sustainable corridor into the city, bringing liveability instead of congestion and pollution.

This is what we deserve. 🌿 🚲 🚌 #ReimagineDublin
