Remember, when journalists just let trans people live their lives in peace, it’s “ideological capture”, but when they use their own personal anti-trans beliefs to lead a campaign to close down the only place in the country trans youth received healthcare, it’s absolutely fine, nothing to see here.

The Fiji coral spawning video has dropped. Son says this is the best spawning in 8 years. Coral normally spawns in the dark of night but this happy reef is so fecund it carries on spawning in the daylight! Give it a like on YouTube if you back marine conservation!

Lucky to catch the last weekend of the stunning San Casciano bronzes' visit to Berlin - these sculptures were ritually buried at a Tuscan healing sanctuary in the 1st century CE after a lightning strike, & were excavated in the last few years. So revelatory about ancient religious practice

Widely applicable.
By practice, artists mean:
Learning/refining to the point you improve beyond where you started.
Learning from others and/or paying attention to a wide range of styles or approaches.
And a little reflection with regard to what you're doing.

Authors, Beware! There's a firm called "ClaimsHero" doing aggressive social media outreach claiming to
"help" you file to get $ in the Anthropic class action. In fact, it's a bait-and-switch, they are luring authors to sign up with them, then OPTING THEM OUT of the class action so they'll get zilch.

Every fairy tale is about how the woods are so deadly that we'd rather go hang out with the witch or the beast or the wolf instead.
You can always tell when folks who didn't grow up in nature are getting into a mystical nature kick because they talk about forests like they're these serene, perfect, peaceful places. No friend, nature is scary and tense as fuck and you're looking at a place where things live and die BY THE MINUTE.

These threats are grim, disgusting and unacceptable.

They’re really common among anti-trans obsessives.

Which is why they were banned so often from social networks. It wasn’t censorship, it was standards.

Removing those rules has only emboldened hate:

People are being accused of "reading performatively", that is reading in public as a way of showing off or 'looking cool'?

That sounds like an accusation made by people who don't read.
