The problem is a poorly regulated market which encourages property owners towards exploitative behaviour. The presence or absence of asylum seekers in the country is about as relevant as mún dreoilín san fharraige.
79% of homes sold in Dublin this year were bought by landlords, 75% by large landlords. About 1 in 5 TDs are landlords.

This is disgusting dog whistling. The problem has never been people seeking asylum. The problem is people seeking to endlessly profit from folks just looking for a home.

My sentiment exactly. The myth that Irish is a difficult language only makes sense if you only speak English. From English, everywhere is uphill.
Irish is not the most difficult language that I have ever tried to learn. It makes sense grammatically. There’s a few small things here and there but overall, it’s definitely not the worst.
