The blockade of Venezuela is a disgusting echo of U.S. imperialism in Latin America. We were lied to about Iraq and WMDs, and an entire generation paid the price.

Here we are again.

We cannot let a wannabe dictator drag us into another forever war.

HR departments countrywide need to start treating gendercrit employees as potentially hostile. As soon as you are required to interact with one, you dust off the rulebook, you dot every eye and cross every t, and you assume bad faith at every turn.

They are a threat to every organisation.

Making capitalists “pay their fair share into society” means all of it. They do not produce. They own. Their fair share is nothing. Labor is entitled to all it creates. It’s important we understand this.

people have completely memory holed this which is a shame because I don't know that I've seen anything like it before or since. Natalie Maines, performing in London, said she was ashamed that George W. Bush was from Texas, and in response she and her bandmates had their lives destroyed
In my second of two opinion writing seminars for MPP students today, I was asked about getting canceled in the future over writing today. I immediately responded with my deeply held belief that only The Chicks ever have been canceled. 3 of the 65 people laughed; everyone else was very confused.

i am very exhausted by disinformation about the cost of transition healthcare. it costs less than $100 for 1-2 years of hormones, depending on your exact sourcing. presenting HRT as impossibly expensive and inaccessible to people who need HRT but don't know how is equivalent to medical gatekeeping.

In 10th grade my history teacher was going over the coming midterm and, as a goof, i asked him if i still had to take the test if i threw up on it. he sighed, leaned back on his desk, took off his glasses, rubbed the bridge of his nose, and said: "Michael, you can't throw up your way through life."
short version: just about every good outcome in my life is the result of someone somewhere saying something genuine or interesting that stuck with me and gave me cause to approach the world in a better way. so I try to be genuine or interesting in the hope of throwing little life rafts out to others
if blogging still existed I could write an entire mirror-world response to that baffler piece on podcasting talking about my history with and approach to the medium and why for all my sympathies to pisspiggranddad I am in a very different place with it but alas
