The concept of 'authentic' food to me always strikes as a bit puritan. Like, the entirety of human history has people discovering other people's foods, and either declaring it 'barbaric' or remixing the fuck out of it, and the latter is always preferable. "Become" implies America hasn't been a nation that bombs other nations, assassinates their elected and appointed governments at will, makes up fraudulent reasons for war, and generally shits all over the world since long before I was born. I didn't sign on for it just because I was born there.
Every American should be ashamed of who we are and what we have become as a nation today. We have a long history of military misadventures and even crimes but the attacks we have been conducting on Venezuela are among the most wanton, egregious and least defensible acts we’ve ever conducted.
