Not even exaggerating on the Freakazoid one. Wire lets you call up anyone/thing to shit talk it, including Eldritch Horrors. It just creates a phone near them. You can pull keyboard terminals out of people and things and type code into them.

Rolled credits on Forgive Me Father 2. Just like the first one, a very solid old school FPS, though this one dropped the skill trees/character choices for lots of weapon choices/skills that you just purchase/earn. Very much a circle strafe/arena fight sort of game overall, solid B+

Misty down, and a few more route catches with only one failure (RIP Sandshrew). A more balanced team now, with some duplicate backups (got a meowth, the other raticate, and another bellsprout in the box). Gonna grind Diglett tunnel and the trainers before hitting the SS Anne.

Finished all the Ice prestige classes on Path of Achra, and if there is an element where one skill is both cheap and super powerful its Ice because of this one. Especially if you get the pants that do 'stand still = activate game turn' effects, stand still and make the entire battlefield die.

I am now at 20 prestige classes left before I 100% Path of Achra! Starting to get into the range of some prestiges I just ignore what they do since I don't like the playstyle (self-damage and divine intervention based ones especially. I don't like yoyo'ng health)

I love Centipedes. They are hard to write for, but their emotion and creation is such nuanced fun to make a truly monstrous encounter with, along with pressuring players with the whole 'there are many people dying, you might wanna hurry or you'll have a big fuckin' zombie problem'

Once I designed a few monsters, I realized that you could, ostensibly, play a whole adventure or set of adventures with your friends, and no one has to GM it. The monsters are handled, how do you do roleplay scenes? Keywords, CYOA-book styled choices and encounters.

Since the monsters are also decks, this means that card manipulation mechanics can be used on them as well. Seeing the top card of their deck lets you know what they're going to do next. They put out permanents, so you might want a class to destroy permanents instead of doing their mechanics.

What are characters without things to fight of course, and stealing a bit from Sentinels here too, the monsters are their own decks, with HP, an ability, and fully self-playing. If you have a GM they can keep track and narrate as appropriate, but the monster deck can go entirely GM-less.

A note on discard and burn. When cards are discarded, they go to the discard pile, which is shuffled back into the deck after it runs out of cards. Burned cards are removed from the deck until the next rest. This creates a design space for more powerful cards that are more limited in use.

You can also see as part of a class you get a Key word, and at level 3 a stat boost that stays with the character. Players can choose any classes, no restrictions, since all they provide are keywords, stats, and cards. Cards also come from gear, either starting gear or from adventures.

For any combat resolution though, you have your deck. You get cards for your deck from the classes you have levels in. Every level gives you two cards, with each class maxing out at three levels. Each class is designed to have its own internal synergy, and cross-class synergy is up to the players.

So a character consists of:

-Maximum HP
-Maximum/Minimum hand size
-# of action points.
-One special ability on the character card based on your background.
-The deck
-Keywords

The first three can go up depending on which classes you pick and max out. So a characters entire card might be:
