Let me be clear:
I have ZERO patience for nihilism about our current affairs.
ZERO.
I WILL call you out for that sort of attitude and I will lay down the fire on your ass.
You’re free to think it. I’m free to call it out.
Deal with it.

I agree with this take that the GOP is not going to be able to figure out a good solution and what we get is going to suck.
BUT, it is interesting that Johnson is saying that its now top priority. There does seem to be acceptance that something needs to be done here even amongst the GOP.

So, we're fucked.
VAN SUSTEREN: Is the Republican healthcare solution going to go into effect at midnight on Dec. 31? Because people are gonna get sticker shock
MIKE JOHNSON: We have November and December to work on it

The GOP does seem to be treating the healthcare cliff as a problem now, and I think you can firmly place that on election results from last Tuesday

Trump: "I want the money to go into an account for people where they buy their own health insurance. It's so good. The insurance will be better. It'll cost less. Everybody is gonna be happy. They're gonna feel like entrepreneurs. They're actually able to go out & negotiate their own insurance"

I half-expect shenanigans to occur to prevent the discharge petition from being heard. Because all they need is for one of the 218 to flip back.
If the discharge petition passes, the vote to release will also pass.
I also believe many people know what's in these files besides Bondi and Patel.

Trump is compromised.
On Epstein. AND again, with Putin.
Almost every person I know outside the US finds this obvious.
Everything I've learned in behavioral psychology, supports this. HIS behavior supports this ... DAILY!

When SNAP benefits get partially or fully restored, please do not cancel any monetary or food donations you are making to local food banks. People are still going to need a lot of support.

I want amy klobuchar as the next leader.... but I'm not blaming Schumer for what happened. Dem voters let kamala harris down last year.
Capital Hill Switchboard: 202-224- 3121
Call your senator and demand that the Democratic Senators caucus and remove Chuck Schumer from a leadership position. This is the second time he has been unable to control the Democratic party to vote in a block and has betrayed the American people.

Respectfully I think this gives way more credit than they deserve, because it implies that they were EVER calling republicans in the first place (they weren’t)
Idk this is a point: most (yt) people just gave up on talking to Republicans in office even when that's possibly their local rep and just put the pressure on Dems. 🤷🏿♂️
When asked if they ever considered calling Republicans…..

Maybe you can demand that your white family and friends vote for the non-Nazi party next time. That’s the real issue.

Like, they disagree with Trump on policy FAR more than they disagree with Dems, but that doesn't matter as much to them as the simpatico VIBES they get from the way Trump arrogantly stumbles through every day, whereas the vibes they get from Dems resemble that of their "cringe" parents.

Sometimes I wonder if maybe the reason why Bluesky lefter-than-thous always blame Democrats instead of Republicans is because subconsciously, they see something of themselves in Trump's unfathomable narcissism.

I laugh when progressives wish the Democrats had their own Tea Party to take over the Democratic Party for the people because the Tea Party was a corporate astroturf op. It had nothing to do with the people. (same with MAGA)

They desperately want to do both but surely trump behind the scenes laughs in their faces when they even broach that possibility
Correct because reconvening for it means swearing in Grijalva which means she's the 218th vote which means the Thump sex trafficking operation may be exposed.
Do the Republicans save Trump or do they save themselves?

I highly doubt Johnson gets the House GOP to go for this and that’s if Trump even allows him to reconvene to vote on it.

No, I think Senate Republicans are tired of Trump and his 🐂💩. I think if “Trump” had not ordered the Senate to nuke the filibuster and doubled down on starving Americans the shutdown would still be going on. It’s the Republicans who actually caved but nobody can see that (yet).

Honestly, this is likely as good of a deal as the Democrats are going to get.
Reinstates fired federal workers. Prevents admin from re-firing them. SNAP funding for a year, and an ACA vote in December.
Voters are already blaming the GOP for the ACA - make them vote against it.

Jesus Christ on a cracker it’s not rocket science to say that the electorate (especially the whites) got us in this mess.

This is an anti-politics that holds voters as the only responsible actors in our political system.
So you're more mad at Schumer than the Dems who "caved" on preventing the lapsing of Biden's "enhanced" premiums expiring?
Y'all should have voted for the Black woman then.

They never want to talk about it or take any accountability. It’s far easier to yell “Dems suck!” than acknowledge that we wouldn’t even be here but for a dumb ass majority white electorate that kept thinking they could touch a hot stove and not get burnt.
