So the rights of Black people, Indigenous people, Disabled people, Trans and LGBTQIA+ people, starving kids and the elderly, cancer kids, immigrants and asylum seekers, the unhoused, veterans and all other vulnerable marginalized groups weren't enough of a reason to vote Harris-Walz??

The "stupid" in this place is particularly strong today, I've noticed... and exceedingly thick.

I imagine how much better social media would be, and life in general, if we could have someone just push a button and purge all the damn bots and trolls from everywhere.

🧵 I thought I'd do a thread of "TV Shows that were canceled after one season (or less) that deserved better & are still worth watching".

It's unfortunate that this is an entire genre. There are SO MANY shows that should have gone on, but were unceremoniously canceled before they could thrive.

Why is the heat always for Democrats?

As has been said over & over & over & over again, ad nauseam, REPUBLICANS/CONSERVATIVES are currently in control of all 3 branches of government.

You want Democrats in charge? Then make sure they get elected in November. Primaries start in March. Get to work.

My point is I would hope a lawyer would understand civics. The Epstein bill was in committee; hence the discharge petition. Impeachment is already in the hopper. Johnson controls whether it goes to committee.

So instead of “throwing up (ur) hands” maybe yell at Johnson & stop rage-farming for GOP?

The biggest problem is that we watched Democrats speedrun an impeachment, get every Democrat to vote in favor, get every Democrat to vote in favor of conviction and removal with bipartisan support only to killed by Republicans - and voters blamed Democrats for "letting Trump go free."

No upside.
This is a very interesting thread. I think the one part I zero in on is impeachment, and how partisanship has functionally repealed it. But that has implications far beyond just that provision. There’s *lots* of stuff in there whose only means of redress is impeachment.
A concept I've been meaning to float to make sense of what's happened to the US Constitution is an idea from the British constitutional tradition: "implied repeal."

It's useful because it helps us to understand that Article I, & much else of the US Constitution, has been implicitly repealed.

To anger a Conservative, tell them the truth.

The American people didn't vote for a functioning Congress.

They voted in THIS Congress.
A functioning Congress will have articles of impeachment drafted by the end of the day.

Our Congress will just go to social media to basically say “We don’t like this, but what are you gonna do?”

This is too trying a time to deal with the f*cking as*holes whose first reaction is to bash democrats and their leadership. And these f*ckers have been around long enough to have seen people show them reality, but they choose to ignore it and go along with the same, tired narrative. 🤬

Dear Leftists making statements this morning.

We don't want to fucking hear your statements. We are tired statements. EITHER START VOTING FOR DEMOCRATS TO AT LEAST PUT A CHECK ON TRUMP'S ACTIONS OR SHUT THE FUCK UP!

Signed,
The American People who actually give a shit, unlike you.

DEMS DO NOT CONTROL WHEN THE HOUSE AND SENATE RETURN

THE ONLY PEOPLE WHO CONTROL THAT ARE MIKE JOHNSON, AND JOHN THUNE

You can scream and holler all you want, but that doesn’t change the facts. Congress comes back on Mon. Dems have absolutely no ability to make it come back today or tomorrow

She did NOT surround herself with "neocons". She was strongly progressive. She did NOT support genocide ANYWHERE.

That's TRUMP you're thinking of.
