My new paper doi.org/10.1093/esr/... explains that personal networks expose us to different degrees to economic distress, which shapes public opinion (here, institutional trust). Yet institutional trust research has largely overlooked networks. #sociology #netsky

Congratulations! 🍾 I already look forward to reading about the results!

Son said that his teacher told a classmate during an exam “you got that question wrong“. He changed the answer, finished, then teacher said “you had it right earlier, as you would have known if you studied. Now it’s wrong.” The kid failed the exam. This story will give me some epic stomach ulcers.
I know several of the women who were harassed by this guy. They had real courage to testify. He engaged in serious professional retaliation against women.

This needs to end. I've seen how many people curry favor with known sexual harassers and how the worst can still manage to leap from job to job.

Imagine being 21 rn, being thrown back in an autocracy that takes people's rights, opportunities, & money, seeing climate crises rapidly change life-as-we-know-it while the wealthy dream of apocalypse, & still being able to see a ... big picture. (oh, and yum re leftover pasta in a Tupperware)

Congratulations Nathalie!!! 🍾

I hope @ageinves.bsky.social will at some time abolish the limiting research team-work team separation. European grants are 10-20x bigger and they work well without it. And the 100-50% rule. Imagine what collaborations would be possible if research groups don’t have to hoard their time.

"The university system will ban advocacy of "race or gender ideology"" -nah, pointing out systemic inequalities in health or pay isn´t "ideology", it´s purely empirical. Framing it as ideology, or prohibiting investigations, however, is ideological. www.nytimes.com/2025/11/13/u...

Women have accused this man for such a long time, but no, we need guys’ emails about him to be sure it’s true.

Loved the presentation 😍! And just ignore jimi's last comment 👆 - without jimi, the paper wouldn´t even exist!

Does anyone know of an international funder open to people based in Spain (funding computational science or anthropology) interested in highly interdisciplinary research using computational text analysis? (~€200,000).
Suggestions or collaborations welcome—thanks! 🙏 #css

Dutch elections: First exit poll shows great wins for centre parties D66 & CDA compared to 2023, big loss for the governing extreme right-wing (ER) party (but compensated by wins by non-governing ER parties) & losses for left-wing parties, but it's too close to call. www.politico.eu/article/dutc...
