The only thing I’ll add is: the Alberta U.C.P. and Danielle Smith murdered her, through hate and through anti-trans legislation.

The British invented great phrases, but I'm very partial to GOBSMACKED.
It derives from Gaulish: 'gobbo-' meaning "mouth," through Irish/Scottish Gaelic 'gob'. As in "shut yer gob."
"Smack" comes from Low German 'smacken', probably imitative of the sound of slapping a face.

I'll start 2026 the same way I finished 2025, by begging people to use alt text. It's not that hard and it makes viewing your photos a more enjoyable experience for everyone, not just those with limited sight.
