It's Hump Day, folks, and our friend demands a sacrifice. Let's get a page from your wip. Maybe it's the middle for you? Give us a line from PAGE 39?

If you haven’t gotten to that page, how about a post from page 3 instead?

Following the discovery of radium, the new (radioactive) wonder element was added to wristwatches, children's toys, toothpaste, and even chocolate. But today, we know better. We wouldn't take a new product that we knew was bad for us and bad for the planet and jam it into everything, would we?

Hey, as a librarian I need to tell you:

Our funding depends on usage.

So go ahead and check out that book even if you don't think you'll finish it. No one will know. Check out that DVD even though you might not like it. Get ambitious in your quest for knowledge.

SOOOOOO glad that the campaign is now in the rearview. Sure, I still have a lot of work to do on the Deemarques and bonus sketches, but at least the ANXIETY of the campaign itself is past. Lol

Now, on to new strips and final edits on the 4th Havenwolf Chronicles novel. But first... a wee break.

If you have issues with "a file or rasp used (as for scraping bone) in surgery,"¹ I fail to see how the air quality has anything to do with it.

¹ Merriam-Webster definition of "raspatory"
FIRST WARNING WEATHER: We normally don't talk about air quality at this time of year, but we are expecting moderate air quality today. For the vast majority of you, this won't be a problem. However, if you have serious raspatory issues, you may want to take it slow today.

“Following the news is a bit like watching a TV series where the characters systematically make the wrong choices and you're in front of your screen like "NO WAY ARE YOU STUPID OR WHAT NO ONE WITH ANY SENSE WOULD... RHAAAA" but you still keep watching because you want to know how it ends.”

No laser for this #WIPSnips, so I'll go with light. Alchemical light-emitting glow-paste to be exact. I'd recommend against trying that out at home, though, to save the local firefly population!

We all knew capitalism was broken (by design), but this is all levels of fucked up.

The whole thread is eye-opening and horrifying.

Yet another reason never to shop at these stores again if at all possible.
(5/11) Walmart, Whole Foods, and Kohls are switching to electronic shelf labels that can display dynamic prices. Kroger deployed them with Microsoft AI—a setup a 2024 Senate inquiry warned could enable “surge pricing” via facial recognition. (Kroger claims it will only lower prices.)

CBS not airing James Talarico’s interview with Stephen Colbert because they were supposedly worried about FCC backlash is a really big deal. Stephen Colbert was told not to say anything and did so anyways. This man is not getting enough credit for standing up for free speech.

People that are so proud of their European heritage generally forget one thing - their ancestors generally had such a shit time in their home countries (and/or they were criminals) that they risked their (& in many cases their families) lives to travel across the world for a better life elsewhere
