I'm really proud of this book, and I can hardly believe it's been out a year already.
Gareth Powell's Future's Edge is just a ton of fun, while also having something worthwhile to say. Set in the aftermath of a cataclysm, it features a human refugee getting dragged into a heist. There's a million ideas in this.

Powell's prose is just ... clear, engaging, and yet still artful.

Writing a few more words on the new science fiction novel tonight.

Paul Giamatti's character is an absolute menace in Starfleet Academy, and Holly Hunter's Captain Ake just stares him down and says everything by barely speaking. Just a wonderful dynamic.

Over the years, I've been fortunate to have work published in French, German, Czech, Croatian, Spanish, Catalan, Italian, Japanese, and Russian. I don't have artwork for all the editions, and I certainly don't have physical copies, but here's a sample of the covers of those translated novels.

Wow, I just caught up with this week's Starfleet Academy, and that was a heck of an episode.

What do you do when you finally get the answer, you’ve been waiting for, but it’s not the one you want?

I don't know how they got hold of my email address, but my junk folder is filled with scam emails addressed to "Dear <author>..." and offering me wondrous exposure for my book, if only I'll pay this small admin fee... 🙄😡

You feel like a fraud. Other authors seem to know what they’re doing and you’re just flailing. Ever feel like that? Here are a few truths to tell yourself when those feelings strike.
