I feel like reducing art interpretation to “media literacy” is missing the reality that works of art can have multiple interpretations. People bring their own experiences and knowledge to how they interpret things. That’s what makes these discussions beautiful!

The truth is that if Democrats had outlets as dedicated to Bill and Hillary Clinton as Fox is to Trump, it would actually be hurting them right now.

“Yeah, we’re in practice a loose coalition of Christmas celebrating atheists, pagans, witches, homosexuals and ‘heretical’ Christians who believe in universal salvation. But we still kept Puritan style congregational elections. Those are nifty!”

The fact that our holiday remembering the puritans is mostly just the beginning of the Christmas season feels like the best way to dance on the puritans’ graves.
And yes, I’m aware that the Plymouth Bay colonizers were technically separatists not puritans but so was Cromwell. #historysky

1/2 WAYSIDE SCHOOL IS FALLING DOWN, by Louis Sachar. The meta-narrative games he plays blew my 10-year-old mind.

(In the first book, SIDEWAYS STORIES FROM WAYSIDE SCHOOL, Chapter 19 reads, in full: "There is no 19th story. There is no Miss Zarves. Sorry.")

Tennessee sophomore cornerback Colton Hood was named one of 15 semifinalists for the Jim Thorpe Award — given annually to the top DB in college football.

Given the brutal combo of longterm injuries to Jermod McCoy and Rickey Gibson III, Hood has been a godsend for the Vols.

You think Jay Leno is gonna go to one of his eighty-bajillion gigs down at the Flappers comedy club in Burbank and make a shit ton of Trump blowjob jokes, or is that something solely reserved for shaming young women?
Dammit, man, why couldn't the Clintons just have let Bernie have that 2016 nomination, man. If this was a thing the whole time, maybe Bill should have just, I'unno, warned his wife about this or something.

My advice if you want to actually reach the audience you’re supposedly aiming for is do a podcast about football and have Jared Golden on to talk about the Patriots.

Sorry but you’re talking about the role of POLITICIANS. Most other people if they want to talk about politics at all do so because they actually have strongly held views. I think that’s why you constantly fail to find an audience. You want an audience that’s passionate about not caring…

2 traps people fall into when discussing online creators.
1. Doug Walker Effect: assuming that because you quit following someone that they no longer have fans or viewers.
2. Anita Sarkeesian effect: assuming that someone who is frequently discussed by haters has more fans than they actually do…
