The Telegraph reports that Europeans expect Trump to disapprove a large deployment of military forces by NATO to Greenland, and is preparing for a severe deterioration of Atlantic relations as a result.

The Trump administration is clearly betting that Europe won’t shed blood for Greenland without realizing that Europe can inflict a lot of pain on the U.S. in other ways.

Look, you may think the Mail is probably exaggerating but the news side of Telegraph is legit: if Euros are considering this, there's smoke

They want it formally dead, but NATO is already functionally dead as a geopolitical reality. Even if he backs down (wouldn't bet on it), there's no going back from sending European capitals into a spiraling panic that the US is seriously about to invade one of them. You can't unring that bell.

I think this is the worst Maryland men's team since immediately post Len Bias; they may not win three more games this year. Extenuating circumstances: horrific injury luck, Damon Evans, Kevin Willard, but there is no reason they should be this bad. Buzz better have it right next year.
This year's Maryland men's team is by far the worst I've seen since I started following them and I sincerely hope it's the worst I'll ever see, because this team is terrible.

If Payne doesn't come back this season (and he honestly shouldn't), there is a non-zero chance they don't win a conference game this year, they are that bad. It's a level of bad I didn't think you could be at a place like Maryland absent a horrific scandal.

A scenario where we give Trump the status quo & he decides that's a huge win for him would probably be for the best if it didn't suggest that it would further embolden him & his. These people are out of touch with reality
"Under the 'Compromise Scenario', Denmark would agree to give Trump full military access to Greenland and deny access to Russia and China."

This is the status quo. We've had it since before Trump was born. It's the most open-ended "put whatever you want here" deal we have for any foreign territory.
I think we’re at the Rubicon.

Who knows, of course, but it feels like what happens over the next few weeks will define the rest of our lives.
