In appeasing fascists does not work news, ABC’s $16 million bribe to the president is apparently no longer cutting it, and he’s back to threatening to silence them, this time because a reporter asked a pertinent question.

Maybe try standing tall with the First Amendment at your back instead.
Trump in response to an Epstein question: "ABC, your company, your crappy company is one of the perpetrators. I think the license should be taken away from ABC because your news is so fake and so wrong. And we have a great commissioner, a chairman, who should take a look at that."

When this happened in Trump’s first administration, Senate Republicans like Lindsay Graham rebuked him and threatened to hold up legislation. Senator Marco Rubio, now the nation’s top diplomat, called for severing US ties with Saudi Arabia over human rights. Press should ask them about it too.

We're primarying John Fetterman.

Last week, Fetterman again sold out working Pennsylvanians. He was the deciding vote for a Republican budget bill that will strip healthcare from over 400,000 Pennsylvanians.

We deserve real working class leadership in the Senate, not a Trump-enabling Democrat.

Because the next person he calls on is probably from Newsmax or Infowars at this point
as a reporter, the part of this that i’ve simply never understood is how the next person to ask a question when he does something like this doesn’t simply repeat the question that set him off. it’s not just solidarity with your colleague, it’s an important question that remains worth asking
I’m not going to pretend it’s easy to say something in the moment when you witness the president do this and you’re aboard Air Force One with all the uniformed officers and secret service and fancy wood accents, but this is really an instance where you should. people.com/donald-trump...

The site formerly known as Twitter is down. So, for the new folks who want to find the good fantasy football content....
If we build it, they will come.

It's opening day. Let's get some fantasy energy going. Let's keep building the community!

Been working on this pack. Seems like a good time to release it, even though it is a work in progress.

Shares and suggested additions are appreciated.

From the great new NBER paper by Bloom et al on the cost of Brexit.

It ain't pretty - they estimate UK GDP is down between 6-8%. Consistent with the doppelgang model of @johnspringford.bsky.social for CER.

A lot of 'free' GDP available availabe for Labour if it had the courage to reset properly.

Reminds me of the time I asked a judge why she had signed off on a bunch of no-knock warrants that all used identical cut-and-paste language. She told me I didn’t know what cops had told her about those cases that wasn’t in the affidavits.

Which . . . that’s worse.

(And then nothing happened.)
