I did it a while ago so I don’t remember exacts, but don’t just download the app - go to their website and delete your account.
Revenue at Duolingo in 2024 was up 41% on 23 to $748M. Net income was up by 451% for same period and yet they're firing workers. We've long been at "insatiable greed" point of late stage capitalism. People may feel helpless but there's a very easy way to kick companies like this. Delete their apps.
I have completely deleted my Duolingo. I was informed by one of my kids that the company has removed most of its employees and 70% of the company is run by AI.
I urge everyone to delete their app.

This may seem silly, but in high school I was annoyed tv wouldn’t show the Sailor Moon Stars season because the boy band turns into girls to fight alongside Sailor Moon. Now I know actual trans people and can’t fathom why anyone thinks they should be treated differently. They’re people!

Yes, they did, and Cabrillo responded in the best possible way, calling it out and withdrawing from Meta advertising entirely. I spent over a decade as Cabrillo's principal viola, and if you're looking for an arts org to throw a donation to in these impossible times, they're a gem.
META rejected an ad from the Cabrillo Festival for mentioning democracy, human rights, and gay pride. Truly evil corporation.

Just got fired from being a freshman football coach, if you want to know what MAGA does to communities.
They don’t care about what helps people, because the school is certainly not going to find an ex-NFL player willing to coach there at that level, they only care about trying to hurt people.
