Yesterday my partner and I counted all the ads along Chicago's Brown Line for "Friend," a company selling an AI chatbot pendant, and tallied how many of those ads were defaced.
Still working on a longer piece on this, but here's the quick and dirty: we counted 104 "Friend" ads total, 42 defaced.

If games companies don't want to pay voice actors what they could do is just not have spoken dialogue. Games did that for decades. It's fine. Just DON'T USE THE PLAGIARISM SLOP MACHINE OH MY GOD IT IS NOT HARD TO NOT USE IT YOU JUST DON'T USE IT THAT IS ALL. GAMES DO NOT ALL NEED VOICES.

What Friday made clear to me is that the the videos and photos posted online represent a mere fraction of what these guys are doing. Tip of the iceberg. And for every 1 person detained & disappeared, hundreds or thousands people are traumatized and terrorized.
The Border Patrol op in Evanston made many headlines on Friday (as it should have), but please note that none of this is new. Feds have been devastating the west burbs for nearly two months now. These communities do not have equivalent wealth and media infrastructure; a lot doesn't break through.
