Lake forever, problems for now.
My opinion is that if you are not

1) a target of ICE
2) someone who has been in immediate physical danger from ICE
3) a lawyer who represents victims of ICE

You should not be subtweeting or transposing YOUR opinions about organizing onto them. This is war. People are traumatized and dying.

Next time let's plan a national strike that is not on a payday at the end of the longest, leanest month of the year.

This is a crime against my dog personally.
🚨, brace for a snowy Friday! Expect 2-3 inches from 9AM-3PM. Heavy lake effect snow could add 6+ inches near Lake Michigan from afternoon through late night. Roads may be slick and visibility low. Stay safe! ❄️

A group of hundreds, many of them nurses still wearing badges after walking from their nearby hospitals, performed a Nightingale Tribute — a traditional send off for nurses — for Alex Pretti, who was killed Saturday by immigration enforcement agents in Minneapolis.

Here is another example of a Worth dress using fabric by Jean Dunand, this one from 1926. The fabric uses a "Far Eastern" fish motif, which was popular in his work in the 1920s-30s. In fact, you can see it on a screen that was also in the exhibit. This particular dress was owned

This was hard to watch, and I can't tell if it is due to Hawke's performance or how astonishingly pathetic his character is. That said, I recommend it for Patrick Kennedy's performance as E. B. White alone! And for the music, of course.

I told my partner who is from the literal Soviet Union, "Bruce Springsteen has done a song about Minneapolis. Wait. Do you even know who Bruce Springsteen is?"
"Of course I know who he is. I listened to him in my youth."
"In the USSR?"
"Yes. Some people in Holland were smuggling tapes to us."
this is kind of weird but I think I just realized I don’t really know who Bruce Springsteen is

It's been so cold this January that I actually felt the difference between 0° and 3° "real feel" temps. I even observed an icicle melting in the direct sunlight. A beautiful sight.

A bright jewel in dress form, the classic #1920s aesthetic but with some lovely decoration. The trompe l’oeil bow over the hips flows to a beaded hem and a frost of lace appears at the edges #ksumuseum #FashionHistory 🗃️🪡

Here we have a 1927 Worth evening dress. The fabric of brown silk satin with gold and silver lame was made by Jean Dunand. Dunand was an interior designer, sculptor, furniture maker, and all-around artist. He worked with Jean-Philippe Worth to design unique fabrics for him.

We needed a protest song. But as a person over 50, I also apparently needed a new iconic Bruce Springsteen song that is suddenly ubiquitous. That's an America I actually know and recognize and, for better or worse, associate with the halcyon days of my youth.

I wrote this song on Saturday, recorded it yesterday and released it to you today in response to the state terror being visited on the city of Minneapolis. It’s dedicated to the people of Minneapolis, our innocent immigrant neighbors and in memory of Alex Pretti and Renee Good.

Getting really good at making soups this winter. Tonight a carrot soup with ginger, lemongrass, orange zest, and coconut cream & garlic sourdough croutons. Perfect antidote to this arctic weather. Paired with pinot grigio frizzante and some Miles Davis.
