I have three novels to write, all different styles, and I'm worried they bleed into each other, as would whatever I'm reading - but none of them are SF, so I'm going to read the EDAs from the start, as a palette cleanser as I go along.

First up - the 8 Docs, which I remember as being shite.

God honestly. Doesn’t this just sum up Reform. And their plastic patriotism.
Can’t even give a straight answer or follow the rules on their unbelievably naff merch.
So on brand.
Oh well. You sell or wear one of these, you’ve told us all we need to know about you.

No idea who Laurent Brindeau is, but isn’t this caricature of @zackpolanski.bsky.social in today’s @dailymailpolitics.bsky.social ragingly antisemitic?

The celebrations for that are probably as mental as anything I can remember since Tynecastle had been all-seated.

Fucking incredible.

This is fantastic writing. So good, I think folk that don't even give a fuck about Hearts or even football would enjoy it. The Cammy Devlin paragraph is sensational. "Gorgie was louder than war". Incredible.

Even though The Mail grassing on The Sun about Rupert Murdoch just feels like a falling out amongst a group of angry middle aged men over who’s not been putting up enough flags.
On David Walliams: The Daily Mail reveals that “showbusiness reporters at The Sun were told to drop negative stories about Walliams because both that newspaper and HarperCollins are owned by Rupert Murdoch's NewsUK, even sharing offices near London Bridge.”

The idea of “imported” violence against women and girls is a deeply comforting fiction - one that allows people to avoid looking at where it actually happens: within our homes and behind closed doors.
The Violence Isn’t Imported. It’s Domestic.
Kemi Badenoch’s attempt to blame violence against women on migrants doesn’t just collapse under scrutiny - it actively distracts us from where the harm really happens, and who is actually responsible.
