Remember all my mad book drama?

(If not, buy me a pint and I'll sing you the ballad of the dodgy ex-publisher...)

Well, I'm absolutely delighted to say it's over!

An enormous thanks to my wonderful new publisher @manchesterup.bsky.social

Queer As Folklore will be back in the wild! 🧜🏼‍♂️

#TraitorsUk serves the finest prime cuts of gay panic. I adore it. 👌

Not going to lie... it is a deep relief and joy, seeing my book in shops, with the logo of my new publisher. Thank gay Christ! 2025 was a year...

Sometimes I go into bookshops and sign my own book just so I can feel something...

I'm going to say this with deep love and concern... I don't know a single gay man who isnt struggling with some form of body dysmorphia.

Folks who may be doon south in or around Londinium... if ya like history, like games, and happen to have a bit of time: this is the place to be. Sacha is well sound, like!
Oi! It's miserable and cold and the world has gone even more mad...

But on the evening of the 16th of Jan come with me for a videogame themed tour of The British Museum!

It won't change any of the above but it will be fun. X

So Stranger Things...
Honestly I found this season messy, which is a shame because I really loved every other season. That being said... call me a soppy loser... but I thought the finale was beautiful.

Queer people have existed in folklore throughout history. Realizing that gives us magical powers, Sacha Coward says.

The Dickin Medal is the highest award that can be issued to animals in British military service. Bearing the words "We Also Serve" it has been awarded 75 times since its creation in 1943.

Only one cat has ever received the award.

This is the story of Able Seacat Simon, of HMS Amethyst. 🧵 1/25

And they're often the writers that get published, btw. I always tell new writers, if you love what you're writing, your reader's going to feel that. It's the special sauce. Write something you want to read yourself. You'd be amazed at how many people still don't.
Unsolicited writing advice: no. 678:
It's fine to write just for pleasure. Writers who write just for pleasure are still writers. (Also applies to readers, and reading.)

Friends: Sacha, you need to stop looking so gullible and being so trusting and desperate for validation!

Friends: For anyone willing to take advantage you're just such a good mark!

So. I went to see Funny Girls in Blackpool last night. (For those that don't know, it's a long running drag cabaret show in England.)

It was fab! But it got me overthinking (pretentious mind dump klaxon) 1/

On a gay weekend in Blackpool and my run on being picked upon mercilessly by every drag queen we encounter is still unbroken...

I say this often but it bears repeating: if you make your money from creating art then you NEED to find an art or craft where you just do it for fun and don't try to be perfect or make any money from it, and when anyone tells you to monetise it you say 'No', because otherwise your soul will die.
