Yesterday on the road, my car started making a horrible loud whirring noise. Managed to limp it to a garage, they won't be able to look at it until today or tomorrow. I'm dying of anxiety. If it's a catastrophic noise, I don't know what I'm going to do. We can't afford a new-to-me car right now.

For those of you who know Sammington - Bear died in his sleep last night. He was quite old for a giant doggo, and this has been expected for some time. He was The Best Doggo and he had time to train his successor.
I don't know what to say. There are no words for this giant, slobbery loss.

On Wed I head to Chicago for a visit to Vital Records in hopes of getting my dad's birth certificate. I gave myself 3 days to deal with it. He was born in 1928, his name is spelled 4 different ways on the documents I have, he didn't have a SSN until the 50s because he never needed one in the army.

TIL that Google made it mandatory that Chromebooks can be charged via their USB-C port. Which is great, since I lost the stupid proprietary charger my Acer Chromebook came with -.-
I will still be forever fucked off that it has only *ONE* USB port.
