As anonymous as possible, since the internet is generally horrible. American. Public health professional.
Exactly what I've been saying. Removing one person is not suddenly going to change the country to one favorable to the US. Trump is hoping that the remainder of Venezuela will be intimidated by Maduro's capture.
“.. For Venezuelans, our situation will not be fixed by Mr. Maduro’s departure, let alone by a foreign occupying force. .. Replacing the man at the top will not dismantle the web of bosses, private loyalties, corrupt practices .. that have replaced public life ..”

This feels insane. The entire Venezuelan government is still in place! The VP was promoted, it's not like the entire government is gone just because Maduro is. Imagine if Trump died and we suddenly had no one to run things.
We’re running the country though:

If you are a foreign president who commits crimes overseas, America will come get you, arrest you, and lock you up.

But if you are a US president who commits crimes here in the United States, America will give you immunity from prosecution, reelect you, and bribe you with billions of dollars.

Last year, Trump promised American oil executives “a great deal” if they donated $1 billion to his campaign.

Today, he gave them Venezuela — home to the largest oil reserves in the world.

This new war is not only illegal and reckless; it is deeply corrupt.

The Trump regime repeatedly lied to Congress about their intention to pursue regime change in Venezuela. They didn’t get Congressional approval for regime change, but did it anyway.

Demanding a briefing in response is both pathetic and nonsensical. Calling for impeachment is the obvious response.

Chaos and violence, and thats with tens of thousands of American troops. If Iraq is the model, we won't even get the oil.

They think we're stupid. Another war for oil, that will be quick and easy, and that will cost us nothing.
Trump: "It's not going to cost us anything because of the money coming out of the ground."

Marco Rubio is reportedly saying Maduro will stand trial in US courts.

Which means it’s now the US administration’s position that US courts can hold foreign presidents, but not the US president, accountable for crimes.

DOJ briefly uploaded this letter from Jeff Epstein to serial child molester Larry Nassar:

"Our president shares our love of young, nubile girls. When a young beauty walked by he loved to 'grab snatch,' whereas we ended up snatching grub in the mess halls of the system."

1/ Just weeks after a Democrat was elected governor of NC in 2024 by an overwhelming margin, the state’s GOP-controlled legislature set out to strip him of powers.

They're so transparent they're removing photos of Donald Trump. And now I'm getting an "access denied" message when I go back to look.

Trump has one wildly successful strategy that has worked for him all his life - deny, distract, delay. He's only got one of those options left on the Epstein files, and he's going to have DOJ milk it as long as possible.
TAPPER: “This is one of the documents Trump’s DOJ released. It’s 100 pages. ALL BLACK. That’s the ‘transparency’ we’re getting.” #TrumpEpsteinCoverup

He's lying. How do we know?

Because they released the Sept 2nd video already!! Just not the part where they illegally killed the survivors. There's nothing "top secret" about the second strike if there wasn't anything top secret about the first one.
Hegseth on the second Sept 2 strike: "Of course we're not going to release a top secret full unedited of that to the general public"

I just came out of the briefing with Sec. Rubio and Sec. Hegseth on the military strikes in the Caribbean and Eastern Pacific. Here's what I learned.

Bottom line: there is no legal or national security justification for what they're doing. Not even close.

Two babies were born in New York within a year of each other, soon after WWII.

One, Rob Reiner, lived a life of humanity and achievement. He brought us delight and joy. His memory will be a blessing.

The other, Donald Trump, will be remembered as an embarrassment to our nation.
