I'll get back to "party unity" as soon as the Senate Minority Leader tells us if he voted for the Democratic party nominee for mayor of his city.

I'm tired of party unity only ever running one way.

What the fresh FUCK is a 50 year mortgage???
One CEO called the idea a “disgusting insult” and “economic genocide against the Gen Z generation.” 👀

President Trump won’t forget John Fetterman’s vote to end the shutdown on Republican terms. The senator can expect a full pardon the next time he pulls a gun on a black jogger.

The other 40 Dems, including those loudly complaining about this capitulation, all meekly capitulated instead of using the last procedural barrier available to them all slow down the process.
Did they all just do a unanimous consent agreement?

Saw this big white supremacist looking fucker at the store today. Covered in tattoos, bug beard, biker jacket, skinhead, combat boots. Whole nine yards. All around scary looking dude. He and his wife walked the snack aisle and I saw him *skip* squealing "ooohhh honey they have chocolate Twinkies!"

Not worried about the millions of people who won't be able to afford insurance? Or the people who still can't eat because SNAP hasn't been distributed?

Kaine is a fucking monster.
Tim Kaine on backlash he's getting: "I got the first good night's sleep last night that I've gotten since Oct 1, b/c I wasn't worried about being able to look Capitol Police in the eye when I walked in, or what a furloughed fed worker would say to me at church, or what somebody would say about SNAP"

Trump: I'm dismantling the Constitution, building a paramilitary fascist army loyal only to me, demolishing the White House, and blowing up the US economy for my billionaire cronies

Schumer: Okay, but you have to extend subsidies for corporate health care

Trump: No

Schumer: Okay

this is senate dems’ second coordinated “just enough” vote to help republicans and betray house dems of the year, remember
The final tally to advance the CR is 62-38.

The Democrats who voted for cloture, giving Donald Trump everything he wants:

Cortez Masto (NV)
Durbin (IL)
Fetterman (PA)
Gillibrand (NY)
Hassan (NH)
Peters (MI)
Schatz (HI)
Schumer (NY)
Shaheen (NH)

How about we shut down the government for this very popular and specific goal and then, hear me out, we hold out for like a month and a half and then, ok this part is important, after a watershed election where we ran the table, ONLY THEN, fold and don't get the one thing we said we wanted.

Wow what a clear eyed, coherent read on the situation.

Now get Schumer out or it's meaningless.
My statement on the Senate proposal.

One reason I don't think it's useful to argue about the correct tactics for Democrats to win elections is winning elections isn't enough. They've won the presidency 5 out of 9 times since 1992 and where are we now. The question is how we create something better than a dead cat bounce party
May 22, 2025 at 3:44 PM
They think we're stupid. They think you're stupid. They will lie to your face every single day of the week and tell you it's your fault for believing them.
Durbin said critics of his vote “need to understand how the Senate works”
November 10, 2025 at 3:30 AM
It's the same as when it just so happens that the exact number of Republicans "reach across the aisle" such that the result of the vote remains unchanged.
The model of holding individual senators responsible is broken here. The retirees clearly agreed to take the fall. Which is why the nos should get no credit for voting no unless they move to oust Schumer

In a normal democracy, a total collapse of party leadership would result in an no-confidence vote and immediate snap elections to find leaders who can lead

At no point did they give a single shit about you or me or anyone, myself included, whose healthcare costs have more than tripled in the last four years.

They scored their points and now they're bored and want to move on. That's it. We mean nothing to them.
These politicians aren't in disarray. They fucking hate you. They don't work for you.

This is predatory capitalism. They gave tax breaks to billionaires so that folks could get bills like this for healthcare.
I thought my new health insurance premium was going to be $350 per month until I got this letter informing me that it would be $1,228.28 PER MONTH. I CURRENTLY PAY $50. Is my math mathing? Is that.... a 2,356.42% increase?

2256.42%????

TWO THOUSAND TWO HUNDRED FIFTY SIX POINT FORTY TWO PERCENT😩

I am fucking begging literally anyone to not forget about this

reminder to any ambitious Dems waiting in the wings: announcing a primary challenge right now to a squishy Democrat who’s up in 2026, whether they voted tonight to shine Trump’s shoes or not, will almost instantaneously be awash in cash. fortune—and a primary challenge—favors the bold.

Hey just a reminder that it only takes 23 Senate Democrats to remove and replace Chuck Schumer as minority leader. They don't do it because the majority of Senate Democrats approve of the way he does politics.
