Hear, hear! Go revel in the books you love, people!
One of my favorite reactions to my reviews is when I rate a book 4/10 or something and someone else is like "hell yeah I NEED to read this"
I love how two people can have completely different experiences with the same text 🩷
There's no "correct" reading or interpretation of a novel.

As we near the end of the year, the last thing you might want is a big, chunky fantasy or science fiction book to drag into the new year. Good thing @bookjockeyalex.bsky.social's got 5 underrated novellas to recommend instead!

An older medic with scant resources fights to support her community as they survive life behind the company wall.
This novelette is my only near future sf story, inspired by a long-ago convo with my dad & by the activists who never give up.

I’m not embarrassed and defensive about liking comics with superheroes because it means I’m a nerd, I’m embarrassed and defensive about it because in 2025 the representation of creative teams that aren’t entirely male still may take another century to accomplish anything near equality in the market

Alright I need a short story break before I dive back into another gargantuan anthology, so let's read one of the oldest transfemme books I'm aware of!
Autobiography of an Androgyne is one of the earliest "trans memoirs," published a solid 15 years before the commonly cited 'first' trans memoir.

2. Andromeda (20 min)
3. Pac-Man Nebula (15 min)
The universe is basically just hydrogen, dark matter, and dark energy. Plus trillions upon trillions of perturbations lol

LET THIS RADICALIZE YOU taught us so much, fam, including how necessary it is to dream better worlds. We def need WHEN THINGS FALL APART and we bet you do too 🩷
My publisher’s been very patient. I’m not doing everything I said I’d do to promote this book (out in a few weeks) because I’m an organizer in a city under federal attack. My days are full and emotionally exhausting. Any help getting the word out means a lot. It's a book people need right now.
