This also means CBP is coming. Extremely bad news.

I have decided that in 2026 I am going to be more me online, which means weird and dorky. We'll see how that goes.

I might even discuss writing more rather than feeling that for some reason I ought not to, that it's (I don't know) "self-centered" of me to talk about something so central to my life.

A ragtag alliance of doughty, courageous, and often bickering rebels brace and push back against the continuing onslaught of the psychopathic king, his sadistic henchmen, their rich sociopathic cohort, and an evil cult.

What a great speech to start off the new year
Mamdani: Where else can you hear the sound of the steel pan, savor the smell of sancocho, and pay $9 for coffee on the same block? Where else could a Muslim kid like me grow up eating bagels and lox every Sunday?

Great thread on endings in narratives.
Discussing with my daughters why the ending of Stranger Things didn't work for them, and they identified all the things I teach in writing class as classic mistakes, I feel, of endings.

We often don't study endings as much in classes, articles, or as writers and I think it shows.
