war on christmas (lol), bathroom bans (we don’t call them bathrooms here), DEI (we didn’t used to put those letters that way round), even 15-minute cities (what the actual fuck)

some significant part of this is just catch-all fear for “this is not the child I ordered” I think

Oh, here's a big surprise. The transphobes don't believe in ADHD either.
then, the transphobes , feeling victorious at how many people they have made unhappy and despairing in the previous week, move on to anything else that has a spectrum and the possibility of more colours than they can conceive - such hateful people - they cannot understand anything that is not THEM

Grammarly advert just now: "Introducing grammar like you've never seen before!"

That, uh... seems like not what I'd want from a proofing tool?

As passed on by my brother... this seems a little embarrassing for a $400 / £350 flagship collector's set, LEGO!

Possibility of a running change and/or customer service replacement for people buying in the three-day FOMO window? (Not me, FWIW.)

Pedantry alert: "This <thing> comprises of <component parts>" - no.

"Comprises" or "is comprised of", please, but I think what you actually meant was "consists of". Or you could just say "contains" or "includes" if you're not listing every component!

Anyway, my favourite bizarre celebrity interview moment remains Christopher Lee finding out Peter Jackson was making Lord of the Rings movies whilst doing an interview to promote his guest appearance as a wizard in some crappy Robin Hood show in SFX, and immediately only caring about that.

Laika are so good at their process, it's getting genuinely difficult to tell the difference between retouched physical puppetry and pure stylised CG.
First look at "Wildwood" new stop-motion feature film by Laika studios.

Out browsing TFs in Smyths today; stood behind mum & small child. Mum is scanning the shelves, asking who the child likes, remarks: "Is there an Optimus?" And it dawned on me that no, there actually wasn't. And that kinda seem like TF sales 101, that there should *always* be an Optimus.

Didn't have "spend the whole day trying and failing to repair my main computer after the boot drive suddenly died" on my bingo card, ugh.

And just DAYS after the MS deadline to sign a reinstalled Win10 up for extended support. 😡

It's not *just* that I opened the microwave and found the cold cup of coffee I'd put in there this morning; it's that I would swear blind I'd drunk it at the time and taken the cup back out to wash.

UNTIL IT’S DONE, Ep. 4: Sylvia Rivera

In the 1970s, queer New Yorkers had been pushed to the margins of NYC. Our trans neighbors faced immense cruelty. But in Sylvia Rivera, they found a champion.

As we combat Trump’s politics of darkness, her legacy can light the path forward.

Dad’s books are full of empathy, common sense, and a healthy suspicion of the powerful. But at its heart his work is also about how systems keep people poor while pretending it’s their own fault. So I hope Kemi’s taking notes as well as reading the jokes.

I find Wes Streeting's presence unpleasant, so he should be banned from all spaces I could ever possibly visit. That's how this works, right Wes?
🚨 BREAKING | Wes Streeting confirms Labour is actively working to BAN trans women AND trans men from female spaces, describing their presence as "unpleasant".

Streeting confirmed to MumsNet that Labour aims to exclude ALL trans people from single-sex spaces.

For 56 minutes Sky News and BBC News interrupted everything else and carried a Reform UK feed live, uninterrupted, unchallenged. The stream spluttered, froze, pixelated - dozens of times - still they stuck with it. FOR ONE HOUR.

This is an editorial choice. No other party gets this coverage. ~AA

Starmer needs to stand up to this. A government that doesn't defend its country's values against these blatant attacks is not doing its job.

Keep seeing articles along the lines of "Farage/Trump is just telling people what they want to hear" and thinking... are they? 'Cos I think they're just saying the most extreme, headline-grabbing stuff and relying on the media to tell people it's what they want to hear. What WHO wants to hear?

Reform UK, which has a grand total of four MPs, was just given an uninterrupted platform for an hour and a half on the BBC and Sky News channels, in order to talk about its plans for mass deportations

When was the last time the Greens (with four MPs) or the Lib Dems (with 72) were given the same?
