I take comfort in the fact that "Reform will close Welsh Universities because of Twitter drama" is actually a campaigning gift to Plaid for the 2026 Senedd Elections in plenty of places.

People work at universities, their kids go to them, and students buy things.
Reform is threatening Bangor University over a student society’s decision. The society isn’t Bangor University—but this is a neat preview of how a Reform government would work: public money for supporters only. Trump-style politics, UK edition.

Authoritarian reflex is already working just fine.👇

Wes doesn't do above the parapet, he only ever does stab you in the back while smiling at your face.

Here's the statue from the shrine. Sadly headless but you can tell it is Her from the lion throne.

While the Attis shrine is still quite complete, this is all that is left of the Cybele shrine

Good day thus far. There is sunshine, and I got to pay my respects at an actual temple of Cybele. Here's our girl Attis

I see that Westminster is going through one of its periodic 'rats leaving a sinking ship' phases. Thankfully I am in Italy and can mostly ignore the drama.

For the next few days I will mostly be at Sapienza University in Rome. The conference is taking place inside the Museum of Classical Art, which is full of stuff.

No, it is not. That would be a very expensive pizza.

The players (and the coaching crew) can’t help what the team owner does or doesn’t do. But I just feel like putting this out here today.

I'm meeting Francesco Verso on Thursday night. Colosseo is his local stop, I believe, but I will leave food to him as he grew up in Trastevere.

Thanks. My hotel has recommended Fornace Stella on Piazza Lecce for pizza so I am giving it a try.
