I think we’ve all had enough of the Neville Chamberlain tribute act at this point…
Starmer asked to respond to Trump breaking international law and seizing the leader of another sovereign nation replies that it is his "responsibility" to have a good relationship with the US President.

"I have stepped up that responsibility [and] I do get on with President Trump," he tells the BBC

What surprises me most is how many people evidently swallowed the false pretences every other time the US has done this exact thing.

The only thing *new* here is how little effort went into the lies.

Keir Starmer says he wants to establish facts by *watching Donald Trumps press conference.*

People said giving him a second state visit was a genius move of strategy - really seems to have paid off.

Special relationship - alive and kicking.

Marco Rubio is reportedly saying Maduro will stand trial in US courts.

Which means it’s now the US administration’s position that US courts can hold foreign presidents, but not the US president, accountable for crimes.

hey remember when a bunch of middle-aged drunk korean lawmakers climbed the locked gates to the national assembly to hold an emergency session after the president gave illegal orders to the military, all of which ended with said president being sentenced to prison

Breaking news isn't a reason to skip alt text. Alt text is MORE important in a crisis.

Imagine how disorienting this is, now imagine not being able to see what all these viral posts depict.

This is a thread of major media outlets falsely anthropomorphising the "Grok" chatbot program and in doing so, actively and directly removing responsibility and accountability from individual people working at X who created a child pornography generator (Elon Musk, Nikita Bier etc)

call me crazy but it really feels like “World’s Richest Man Creates AI Chatbot That Generates Child Porn” would’ve been a huge international outrage requiring a governmental crackdown not even 24 months ago

Journalists have collectively forced themselves to become so incurious about left-wing politics that the parts of their brain required for basic reading comprehension have gone out.
But can anyone tell me what this bit means? “For too long, those fluent in the good grammar of civility have deployed decorum to mask agendas of cruelty.”

This damning level of ignorance is precisely what I always suspected, yet simultaneously incomprehensible.
But can anyone tell me what this bit means? “For too long, those fluent in the good grammar of civility have deployed decorum to mask agendas of cruelty.”

You'd think the British government (and everyone else still using X for 'reach') would not want to be known to be frequenting a platform that carries and actually generates child porn. And yet they keep posting there.
Meanwhile, at the other place:

this is such an important thing to recognize and call out

the fascism is mostly done being nice at this point, but it got here through well dressed men politely asking questions while the rest of us were scolded for pointing out where those questions led

I would like to thank Suzanne Moore for once again saying the quiet part loud enough to be a useful pedagogical tool.
The GC movement is totalitarian in its instincts. It cannot bear the idea that, even when they get what they want, there will still be dissent. That's fascism for you tho 🤷‍♀️
Note how these awful people are getting exactly the exclusions of children that they demanded and *that still isn’t enough for them*: they demand everyone be delighted about it and kiss their arses for being brilliant.

Disappointed to see Jon Stewart & co joke about masking in public. I do it for my medically fragile daughter (Batten Disease). People not masking properly led to her getting pneumonia, which led to her being on life support, which led to me getting price quotes on her cremation just in case.

What a truly bizarre find. Moore repeatedly states she wants us “killed off”. Extreme ‘Gender Critical’ belief and activism is completely and utterly incompatible with Humanism.
How the sweet hell did she ever become a patron?
Anyone want to write some letters?

…See how bigoted it sounds!?

Also note the radicalisation of Suzanne Moore via transphobia!

Except this *is* the problem, John.

“Centrists” think they already crafted the perfect system 30 years ago. Their political philosophy is focussed on returning to that idealised moment in history.

That’s just Conservatism.

Thrice shall ye be claimed after death.

First, thy soul shall be claimed by the Reaper.

Second, thy Body shall be claimed by the Grave.

And third, thy Brand shall be claimed by the Milkshake Duck.
Super funny the biggest reactions to Bardot's death I've seen have been "Whoddat???" and "She said WHAT?!"
I think a lot of people learned when she died.

This exposes the core lie on which the entirety of “gender-critical” transphobia is based.

The transphobes’ entire campaign is based on the false claim that they represent cis-women.

The number of signatories to this, is way higher the number of signatories to their transphobic WDI “declaration”.
We are now at 75k signatures, with many messages of support on Instagram, Facebook and here.

This is a genuine groundswell of love over hate, and a call to focus on the real harms faced by women and girls.

Thank you all who’ve signed and shared. Let’s keep it going 💜
