This is very interesting to me, because often when women express political opinions, we’re derided as hairy-legged ugly frumps. As always under patriarchy, there’s no way to be a woman that can’t be denigrated.

Earlier today I was thinking about the tactic of providing people with legal authority to take custody of children when their parents are disappeared, and lo, it is happening.
Some immigrant parents, fearful of their children facing similar uncertainty if they were to be arrested, detained or deported are taking the extreme step of legally transferring parental authority to teachers, co-workers, fellow parishioners and neighbors.

When I said Trump was a fascist in 2016, my mother thought about it and said “well, he doesn’t have the brown shirts.” Now he has them. That is the only difference.
Every one of the factors that now convince him Trump is fascist was present in the first term (even if unsuccessful). Lots of folks who accurately described Trump as fascist were called unserious. I'ed much rather someone admit why they were wrong (left-punching, bias, etc.) than this. Gift link
