I was 4 in 1971 when my mother lost her 5th pregnancy (I only have 1 sibling, so reproduction was a challenge for her) at around 23 weeks. A judge denied her an abortion because she wasn't "close enough to death," causing her to bleed out for 18 hours. No woman should be denied medical care.

The first rule of triage is don't create additional victims. I know we want to help our community and we don't get to decide when the need arises and whether our kids are with us. But you are a parent and absolutely must sublimate your own need to be involved for the good of your child AND community

I would rather have a world where we all trust each other and accept that a few people will take advantage of it than a world where folks have to perform disability constantly in order to get the help they need. Let kids have an extra 30 minutes on the test, jesus fucking christ
