UPDATE 🚨: ICE delayed Marrero's release by filing an intent to appeal the judge's decision to grant bond. ICE has 10 days to appeal the ruling, otherwise Marrero will be released.

“My husband is super strong… he knows that this is not going to break us," said Matthew Marrero on an Instagram post.

Their marriage was torn apart by ICE, but not forever. Today, Allan Marrero was granted bond in immigration court, and will soon be freed into the arms of his husband.

This week we were told the @houstonlanding.bsky.social would be shutting down. I've found it hard to put words together to talk about the devastating impact this will have on local journalism and my coworkers. All I can say is I'm endlessly grateful for those who trusted me with their stories.
