over the years, Collins notably refused to engage in state ballot referenda, like on marriage twice

To paraphrase what Zohran Mamdani said of Trump, Susan Collins, one of the people in Maine with the most power, is now expending her energy targeting those with the least

Craven is too kind
In case anyone is wondering what kind of campaign Collins intends to run next year, now we know. No achievements, only hate:

Collins' office said she signed onto the petition because she agrees with President Donald Trump’s interpretation of Title IX.

There is no greater need on the center-left and in the center than unity against AI (or crypto) bailouts.

If Trump does it, he has to do it alone with his oligarch pals, no Democratic support ala Pelosi/Obama in 2008 or Biden & Larry Summers in 2023 (SVB).

If Democrats were deliberately trying to set up a situation where 2 Republicans advanced to the general election for governor, they couldn't do it any better than the current situation.

Good. Dems not backing down in the slightest in the face of Trump's call for their execution. Keep this up, Dems. Treat Trump like *he's* the violent criminal and the real threat to our Constitution order. Because he is.

Climate change is causing increasing blooms of toxin-producing algae, and it’s causing dementia in dolphins. There’s evidence that human exposure to these algae blooms - you can even breathe in the toxins from nearby land - is causing similar brain damage in addition to other harmful health effects.

It's a revealing moment...

J.D. Vance welcomes a two-legged robot helping on the job site. But if that helper is a person named Jose, he calls it a threat. Same tasks, same productivity boost.

The inconsistency reveals this isn’t about economics.

Everyone does know what's going on here, right? Should the Epstein evidence bill pass both the House and Senate, these criminals will say it can't be released because there is an active investigation. Never mind that a thorough investigation was completed, and the DOJ was prepared to try Epstein.

1. Scandal politics win elections pretty often.

2. THIS scandal divides the GOP more than affordability or really anything.

3. If Dems want to win the fight (pry the files loose, rather than give up after Trump says no) they need to make a referendum out of it. www.offmessage.net/p/force-a-re...

My god (sorry I’m late on a bunch of this stuff. But wow!)

According to this NYT report, the head of the FBI and the Attorney General are holding meetings *in the Situation Room* with GOP lawmakers they are trying to pressure to rescind their votes to release the Epstein info. This is madness.

Now Dreamers and #DACA recipients are being hunted by ICE

In 2025, eight (8) SENATE DEMS voted to reopen the government w/o securing ACA assurances

What will happen to the #healthcare of medically complex children, veterans, families?

I think it’s now safe to call this race.

Progressive urban planner Katie Wilson defeats centrist incumbent Bruce Harrell and will become Seattle’s next mayor.
Seattle's mayor race update:

Katie Wilson's lead grows to 1,346 votes over and incumbent corporate-Democrat Bruce Harrell.

Kate Wilson won 61.23% of the 6,121 ballots counted today.

Overall total:

Katie Wilson 50.08% 137,217
Bruce Harrell 49.59% 135,871
Write-in 0.33% 908

Why is the "we must be united!" hectoring directed at people who are mad at the Cavers and not to the Cavers? Everyone who's mad was united, then the Cave Caucus walked across the aisle and betrayed what the public had been told was the Dem position.
The sooner we get past internal recriminations and back to fighting united, the better off we all are — the likelier our victory next November.

Warner is up for reelection. He was widely seen driving towards surrender behind the scenes, but he's voting no in public because it's unpopular. The real question is whether he supports a senate leadership change. If not, someone who supports senate leadership change should primary him.
But I cannot support a deal that still leaves millions of Americans wondering how they are going to pay for their health care or whether they will be able to afford to get sick.
