I have no interest in policing other people's personal health choices in any way. If you're taking a GLP-1 and happy with it, then I'm happy.

But we're never going to be a country without fat people — or the need to treat each other with grace and humanity regardless of size.

I can’t believe you lefty Luddites hate tech so much that you embrace mRNA vaccines, heat pumps, electric bikes, hybrid work, renewable power (and awesome advancements in storage), space telescopes, and hot/cold running water but reject the planet destroying plagiarism enrich the worst people bots!

My mother's benchmark for me being ready for the test was whether I could drive to O'Hare and back from our suburb. Ever since, while I will cuss freely and recreationally at other drivers, I can usually maintain an internal equanimity about driving nonsense.
okay one of my best friends just told me her driver's ed teacher was named

wait for it

Mr. Streetman

... and now, because the horrors are horroring, I wish to hear from Bluesky about all your great and bad and terrible and fun driver's ed stories

Again: I am waiting for a generative AI evangelist to explain to me why I should be excited about this, why this technology is so incredibly wildly overwhelmingly EXCITING that none of the pain and suffering and horror and immiseration connected to it should be enough to turn me off

“The left is missing out on AI!” YEP. Most of us want to miss out! If it ever proves its actual usefulness to our actual lives, stops plagiarizing, and is no longer an environmental disaster, maybe we revisit. Burden of proof is on the industry. So far they’ve done the opposite of that!

The more of these fascist atrocities I see, the more I become an immigration maximalist. Let everyone in, give everyone work permits/green cards. Make it possible to get citizenship within a few months. Make it as easy as getting a driver's license.

In my #ChangelingTheDreaming game, they time-traveled back to 1969 Florida (iykyk) and met a swamp sluagh and a crocodile pooka who are in the early stages of a serious courtship. It was very sweet. He (croc) gave her a small frog.

If you try this, I will haunt you.
Meta has patented AI that can run a dead person's account, continuing to post and chat on their behalf

It can message and video call by replicating a user's online behavior using their past data

Some days I imagine how much improved our economy would be if minimum wage was = or > a living wage in every area, all workers had the inalienable right to join a union without interference, and service industries were prohibited from short staffing (determined by the workers not mgmt).

This is the thing I think trolls, etc don't understand: Once I block you I literally never think about you again. Shit, five minutes after I block someone I don't remember who they are or why I blocked them. They simply and literally don't exist for me anymore. If this is a victory for you, fine.
Some of y’all must have a blocking kink. It’s weird — you’re intentionally rude, obstinate or worse — in my replies as it daring me to block you as it gains you something. I won’t remember two minutes from now.

“But Sunny it’s unfair for you to have an opinion about it if you won’t engage with it”

Aha but you see I am a self-proclaimed hater and therefore have no obligation to fair

As someone who works in physical media (traditional illustration, beading, etc), it's enrichment for my ADHD to have my supplies neatly organized EXCEPT FOR one box of random junk. When the Junk Box gets too unruly, I sort it, which can be fun, but otherwise it's nice to NOT have to sort EVERYTHING.

Time for your quarterly reminder that degenerate is a Nazi term, indicating the literal degeneration of a gene pool. Things this referred to: interracial marriage! Queerness! Disability!

It pretty much indicates they don’t think you’re human!

It’s not a cutesy way to say “leftist”

in 2016, prior to the election, an analysis I read said "the democratic party works like a business, and there's a great deal of loyalty to people who are part of the machine. Think of it like an organization that promotes from within, rather than a political organization with a shared platform"
I mean my objection to people like Newsom remains fundamentally a moral and ideological one, but even to the cynic who thinks of politics as a game it's not even tactically advantageous. You're alienating people who might be part of your voting coalition to do... what, exactly?

(clinton and her era of 60s-era democrats ejecting the 'old' democratic party that'd done the new deal and trying to deregulate banks is part of why we're here; it's not just gerontocracy, it's also that dems in the 1960s went hard into the pro-corporate capture side of things)

There needs to be a category on FB where you're not "friends" with someone but "still mutuals so I can see the Drama unfold."

(Though I do keep unfriending people from HS who keep posting genAI memes.)

If we make the fate of Trump and his cronies the sort of thing fasc whisper about to scare each other we could go back to that glorious minute when I thought no one worse than Romney was going to be run for decades yet. Mark you I was preparing to fight to keep Romney out of power as plenty bad. 🧵

Racism and bigotry as blatantly expressed and practiced by Donald Trump and his administration should absolutely be considered "high crimes and misdemeanors" in that they result in biased and unlawful treatment of different classes of constituents.

IDC. I don't want it, I won't use it, and you can't make me be happy about it. My grandparents lived their lives without computers, vcrs, or any music device newer than an 8 track. Not cuz they thought these were bad but because THEY, PERSONALLY, didn't want it.

I'm gonna be PISSED if the rumored MtG Universes Beyond HP license is real.
Is it just me, or does there seem to be a wave of HP licensing going on? More than I've seen in years, actually.
