To offset The Weight of things, here is my naughty gremlin cat making tea with her catnip mouse and looking UNREPENTANT about it:
Close enough that my dad would point out filming locations when we were driving out and about:

The people spreading misinformation know exactly what they are doing. They don't care and they made sure that you won't care either. At least not until it's too late. White supremacy is a death cult and it isn't the only one. Hating your neighbors will kill them and you too.

Looks like someone is term-searching N Gaiman on here to comment on old posts and muddy the waters / "debunk" statements / harass people speaking out. Block and move on.

I desperately need those glittery dangling stars earrings that Prue wears in GBBO Holidays (2025 nyr / the "Scottish" episode).

Today I ran some laundry, took out the recycling, tidied the living room, cleaned the door of the fridge, tossed expired foodstuffs, & cleaned the front hall closet & tossed/set aside clothing for donation. My mental reward trigger is so broken, I feel like I haven't done anything significant, augh.

Ellie did not work out (allergies, tried to attack the cat). I am absolutely devastated, but another adopter is lined up and we sponsored her next adoption fee + sent her off with lots of toys and goodies.

And that's always the way, right?

If speaking out usually paid material dividends, everyone would do it.

But in fact, it usually earns punishment. Personally and professionally.

That is a big part of what makes it brave.

I'm running another limited TTRPG campaign, for Changeling: the Dreaming (20th Anniversary Ed.), & it's kind of weird how I build campaigns around *locations.* Like, I'm setting up a museum heist & I don't know necessarily what CAN happen (or who works there) until I figure out the museum layout.

Here are things that do in fact constitute death threats, by the way.

"We should take away people's snap benefits to encourage them to work."

"It should be illegal to allow teenagers to access puberty blockers or transition care."

"Homeless shelters should turn away people until they're sober."

I don’t normally do this but I want these two pieces to find good homes as I start cleaning up my current studio to move into my home studio in the coming month or so. Both are on sale for 24 hours only. Originally 1800.00c letting go for just 1000.00 a piece. 24x32” acrylic on canvas.

One of the prized items in my board game collection is this unplayed and MULTI-SIGNED copy of Dragonriders of Pern (pinging @michaelwhelan.bsky.social bc he seems to have signed it TWICE):

If someone tries to hire you and doesn't have a style guide document, that is a warning sign that they are either unprepared to be outsourcing or they simply don't value consistency.
These are two reminders to people hiring writers/game devs for ttrpgs:

+ If your freelancer doesn't have a lot of material or guidance from you, you're going to end up unhappy with their work - and that's on you.
+ Expecting full scenario/adventure drafts in less than a month is unrealistic.

First full day with the dog and I'm stressed and anxious, but apparently that's normal. She's so good and sweet I don't want to give up, but finally having a dog is A Lot.

performative reading, lack of reading skills, nobody's reading anymore -- NO!

tell me about a book that changed you

for me? the *extremely* ahistorical novel, THE AGONY AND THE ECSTASY which I read at 13 and was like, "Oh, art can be *everything* to a maker, for good and bad"

Your enemies are counting on you to lose hope. Despair is one of their greatest weapons, for it leads you to stop fighting for yourself. Hold on to hope, no matter how hard it is, and refuse to join your enemy in bringing you down.
