Unemployment for an entire generation isn’t ‘quiet time.’ It’s a failing labor market and a warning sign for the economy.
Kevin Hassett: "I think there could be a little bit of an almost quiet time in the labor market, because firms are finding that AI is making their workers so productive that they don't necessarily have to hire the new kids out of college and so on."

Yes. Trump and Greene are both odious but it is objectively good for them to fight, particularly over an issue that is extremely bad for Trump and which has zero downside for Democrats.

It is how the Framers envisioned checks and balances would work, "ambition must be made to counteract ambition."
People getting mad here about anyone saying it's good that MTG and Trump are fighting. I teach democratization every semester. The first slide says 'elite fracture.' That's always where it starts. It's good when people with bad politics are fighting one another.
I do not regret to inform you that we are going to win

A former career DOJ guy told me a few weeks ago that prior to Trump, the FBI was the varsity team, DHI and ICE were junior varsity, and Border Patrol were like a drunken office softball team. And under Trump, the drunk softball guys are now in charge.
Listen to this Border Patrol agent cry about how he's going to be DOXXED after being arrested for drunkenly barging into a woman's restroom with a loaded gun, demanding a date from the woman inside, and then punching the arresting officers.

I don't know why after the last 10 months things like this coming from a government account shock me, but it does. So awful.
Official U.S. Government account refers to its citizens as "imbecilic morons".

I can't remember the precise wording but someone on here said that the Republican threat to expose Bill Clinton too isn't so much a threat as it is a "buy one, get one free" promotion.
"This could take down Democrats, too."

I know. And I frankly wouldn't give even an itty bitty damn if it implicated every Democratic man in Congress, every Democratic hopeful for 2028 and every Democrat who has even thought about running for office.

The sheer number of people Trump pardoned — 1,500+ — and the magnitude of violence many (most?) of them committed means it is statistically likely that a fair number will be revidivists, potentially for more egregious crimes. The pardons should be a top story EVERY DAY

I also wrote about the health "plan" here. The ACA brought sweeping protection to tens of millions of patients, enabling them to secure coverage. Trump wants to do away with all of that, replacing insurance protection with direct payments in a much costlier system. www.msnbc.com/opinion/msnb...

The dangers of what Trump is proposing for health care, from my daughter.
Here is my latest for @msnbc.com, on Trump's ill-advised concept of a plan for health care, which entails repealing the ACA, and redistributing private insurers' tax breaks to the people for what would essentially amount to an HSA, which is unhelpful if not wealthy. www.msnbc.com/opinion/msnb...

I really hate how Trump refers to everything as a "hoax." The "Democrat Shutdown Hoax?" The government was shut down. It wasn't a "hoax." Demented shithead.
Now we have Trump blasting air traffic controllers, telling them they hate this country for not showing up without pay.

"I am NOT HAPPY WITH YOU. You didn’t step up to help the U.S.A. against the FAKE DEMOCRAT ATTACK... You will have a negative mark, at least in my mind, against your record."

Trump just celebrated Schumer's cave by pardoning 75+ co-conspirators including Rudy Giuliani, Mark Meadows, and Sidney Powell, for their efforts to overturn the 2020 election.

So Dems lost Matt Yglesias, Chris Cillizza, Jonathan Chait, and—now—Ezra Klein.

That’s how bad their decision to cave is.
"If I were in the Senate, I wouldn’t vote for this compromise. Shutdowns are an opportunity to make your arguments, and the country was just starting to pay attention... I worry that Democrats have just taught Trump that they will fold under pressure."
