Hey folks. Make a will. Even if you “don’t have anything”

If you have kids and you don’t have a will you’re being negligent.

Is he saying it’s a good thing or a bad thing to look like Tom Cruise. I honestly can’t tell.
Trump at Natl Prayer Breakfst: "We prefer somebody that's a strong, powerful person w/extremely good vision that can shoot a rifle very well to a person that's extremely weak, non-muscular, can't shoot a rifle, has no idea where the hell he is. We have a military where they all look like Tom Cruise"

Killing the CIA World Factbook might seem like small potatoes, but it was a touchstone of curated facts in a sea of disinformation.

I’d love to see a list of businesses on the right side of history and come give them some money.
Axios had a story today about how hard Minnesota’s economy is being hit and how slow the recovery could be. So, I’m going to take this opportunity to say that if you want to support the Twin Cities, you should plan a visit for this summer, spend some money here, & see how amazing it is for yourself.

People have been shouting for years that no one should be a billionaire, that wealth on that level is personally poison and societally catastrophic, and now we have millions of terribly written emails demonstrating in the clearest terms that every one of those shouts was impossibly correct.

Sometimes I like to ask my wife “sooo where do you think this is all heading, me and you?” Like it’s our fifth date. She usually replies “the grave Ian. It’s heading to the grave” and that’s the most romantic shit ever.

I literally happily give talks for like a cup of coffee or a slice of pizza. Especially for students or activist groups. My hair is not as good as Klein's, but I'll honestly tell you if I don't know something or am not an expert in it.
I bring this up - well, for lots of reasons. Ezra Klein’s rates were going around a little while ago. (More than 10 times what I was offered.) He doesn't have to do that. He could say no. The Times pays him plenty. He could just give talks when he feels like it. You don’t have to monetize yourself.

Say what you want about Norman Finkelstein, but it's probably a good thing if you only show up in the Epstein files to say that you think Epstein should be throttled.

Just think about the amazing Epstein scoops the new CBS Evening News contributors will have just by interviewing each other.

Are we at the point where folks ‘need’ an alternative? I had a meeting the other day and the person was like “we all us ai everyday” and didn’t believe me when I laughed out loud and denied that.

Stephen Miller is saying that like it's a bad thing.

It is ipso facto anti-American to the core.

“Anyone could have wound up talking to Jeffrey Epstein it’s no big deal!” Makes a lot of sense if your talking about like, some finance meeting in 1992 and a lot less sense when you’re talking about like “I flew down to see him during his second house arrest for child trafficking in 2012”

Oh yes. I’d like to introduce you to the “bad cops good soldiers” rhetoric in Egypt (and other Arab states).

The security forces should be under civilian democratic control and accountable for ALL of their actions from the local to the federal level.
I’m *extremely concerned* about the way folks are reforming their image of the cops in light of everything that’s happening, even though we only have a handful examples of them disagreeing with ICE, while still being responsible themselves for the murders of Black and brown people across the country

Just shit that would have been corny in my fraternity house at 19 years old. And this guy is now one of the “big thinkers” at CBS News. What a joke.
Oh look, according to Peter Attia MD “pussy is low carb” something that is totally normal for a doctor to say to Epstein, who had previously been convicted of procuring a child for prostitution

As a side note, it’s funny to see so many of these emails with thirsty academics repeatedly enact Marx’s bit in the 1844 Manuscripts about the power of money. “Oh Mr Epstein, your house in New York is enormous and, unrelatedly, your questions at dinner were so intelligent, so insightful, so deep.”

I know I’m class reductionist but one thing these “revelations” reinforces is that there is no productive, moral, or positive outcome of allowing billionaires to exist. Money is made by the state for purposes and can’t be hoarded.

There’s a famous picture of Dilma Roussef in court as a young woman while her prosecutors in the junta hide their faces.

One of these young people will be President one day and these photos will feature prominently.
