To date, I have gotten no indication from Bluesky that they are working on any projects related to stronger user authentication, including passkeys. I think the development team is focusing on other priorities. (Whether that's good or bad seems like something reasonable people can disagree on.)
Hey @bsky.app ! Are you planning on implementing authenticator app or passkey support? Either would be really amazing!

This trend is real. Some websites have erred and gone in the "email magic link" direction instead of passkeys. The good news is that emailed magic links work great as a fallback for passkeys, so their work isn't completely wasted. rmondello.com/2025/01/02/m...
