I just installed SteamOS on my ROG Ally and it....just works.

OS installation was really easy and after that one plugin to get RGB working, which was also a simple 'download, install, done' thing.

@valvesoftware.com have got their stuff together. :)

It is surprising how different Roland's vintage synthesizer models are.

The filter key-follow on the JX-8P does not follow MIDI notes below 24.
In addition, the frequency scaling is slightly off, and the filter key-follow is inaccurate. At least on my model.

Can anyone confirm this?

If you buy it you'll be entered into a prize draw to win 4 more of my albums on CD, and this album on vinyl!

As soon as I've made only 100 sales, I'll activate the prize draw.

I could also do with some cheering up.

Starting with the user and working back to technology is the exact opposite of SV and tech right now.

Just throw dung at a wall and see what sticks. Barely working products to fund an exit/IPO and/or please the shareholders each quarter.

Where's the new 'old' Apple?
Steve Jobs said to start with the user and work backwards to technology. That's how we got the iPhone.

Sadly, 'user' did not include developers. That's how we are still stuck with the pile of manure that is XCode.

After Jobs' death, Apple products are slowly transforming from 'iPhone' to 'XCode'.

OH: humans are a social species.

We are!

Folks replace every human interaction with an app and are then surprised they (and everyone around them!) ends up feeling miserable.

Be careful what you trade for a little convenience (laziness).

When a shutdown lasts long, and people have bills to pay, they find new jobs. And those are jobs that are not affected by shutdowns. So once the shutdown ends they will NOT come back.

We saw this with COVID and closed bars/restaurants as well. And they still haven’t fully recovered today.
