Like a painter doesn't use all his available colors, but puts a *selection* of colors in a pallette before starting, I do the same with samples and sounds before I start building out tracks or sets.

Keeps things consistent and it's faster than browsing your entire library for every track.
Higher quality version. Straight out of the MC-707. No post-processing of any kind.

Currently building up materials for a live set, and it will probably yield about 5-6 full tracks. :)

This. And I'm fed up with it. I got rid of a most of my subscriptions, and I'm going to get rid of Windows and Office in the near future too.

The only digital stuff I will keep are services that are not predatory, such as Steam, Bandcamp, etc.
Every new piece of technology seems designed to invade what little privacy I have left so my life can be sold to private businesses and the surveillance state while also demanding a monthly payment.

The resist and MAGA bots are out in full, it seems. Any real people following me recently: it will take me some time to parse all of them and separate the real from the fake people.

Are we still doing starter packs?

Put this one together because I love seeing things that lovely folks write on the internet, and I'm sure there are more people to meet and add to this list.

Daughter: I'm going to Amsterdam to Wingstop.
Me: What time are they playing?
Daughter: WTF, it's a fastfood chain.

😱🤣

In my defense, the only one in NL is at Schiphol airport. :P

I love this. I still remember being a 14yo and hopping on my bicycle to go to the local gas station at exactly the right day and time because then the guy who made mix tapes with underground dance music worked there and he sold those as a side gig. 😎😍
An early #cassunday for me today with a mixtape I made last week to get me in the mood for the Kraftwerk gig next year 🤖

I like to make spur of the moment mixtape covers from whatever scraps I find lying around while I'm recording - very therapeutic.

LOL, had 6 tracks on my list for the #raveyardshift tonight with the theme 'Mid-Town Records', but ended up posting 11. 🤣😂

And I think I know next weeks theme already. :)

Alright, it's 10pm here in NL, so I think that counts. ;)

Kicking it off nice and easy tonight with this early classic from Mid-Town Records:

Enshittification has consequences:

Streaming killed piracy, but the fragmentation along with content disappearing on a whim has brought it back:

As Gabe Newell put it: Piracy is almost always a service problem, not a pricing problem.

"You will be left behind!" is the new "have fun staying poor!".

It's how you can recognize a grifter BTW.

Do this (fun?) exercise: look up how to recognize phishing or other scams. Then put those red flags against what vendors and marketeers are currently putting out.

You'll be shocked. :)

In WW2, it took mortal enemies to work together (albeit temporarily) to defeat the Nazis. They went back to being mortal enemies afterwards.

So if any person turns on Trump and his gang, welcome them for now until they have been defeated, sort your differences later.

Please look at history.

I just installed SteamOS on my ROG Ally and it....just works.

OS installation was really easy and after that one plugin to get RGB working, which was also a simple 'download, install, done' thing.

@valvesoftware.com have got their stuff together. :)

It is surprising how different Roland's vintage synthesizer models are.

The filter key-follow on the JX-8P does not follow MIDI notes below 24.
In addition, the frequency scaling is slightly off, and the filter key-follow is inaccurate. At least on my model.

Can anyone confirm this?
