I see the point, but Mamdani is a mayor. Schumer is a US Senator. Mayors are *supposed* to obsess about practical, day-to-day stuff. Plus, unlike Schumer, Mamdani seems to have listened to criticism and has adjusted. Not so much Schumer.
The pivot from "Mamdani is a political genius for focusing his message almost entirely on affordability" to "Schumer is a political moron for focusing his message almost entirely on affordability" is odd.

Happy DeForest Kelley day to all who celebrate! @larkistin89.bsky.social I'd love to see your gorgeous portrait again...
On his birthday, we remember the great DeForest Kelley, who played Dr. Leonard "Bones" McCoy on the original Star Trek, The Animated Series, TNG, and in 6 films. He once had ambitions to be a doctor, but became an actor instead, appearing in many Westerns—often as a villain.##StarTrek

I absolutely love this core mission of Mamdani - explain to people on a daily basis why government is a good thing. Show the things it’s doing. Mundane, boring, practical, useful things. Show them the value.
Mamdani: "I'm trying to inspire amongst New Yorkers a sense of faith and belief in what government can do, and it's very hard to do that when they look at masked agents and see them as another face of a similar government"

We have an entire class of Democratic "leadership" that has been told that it's dangerous and extreme to say this, and that does not understand that what Democrats want is for their leaders to articulate what they believe and why they believe it. That should not be as big an ask as it apparently is.
