For those unfamiliar with Edina this is the Minneapolis equivalent of a Westchester socialite walking down Fifth Avenue singing "John Brown's Body."
They got Edina Moms excoriating the Administration and signing off with a a land acknowledgement. They are so fucked lol

This is the way. Get the FACTS out directly.
Things are so bad that the Minnesota prison system has had to launch a website specifically to combat DHS lies. The first major release from DOC officials suggests Gregory Bovino outright lied about the target of the Border Patrol operation during which agents shot and killed Alex Pretti.

The laundry, the books and toys being shared, the solidarity.
The majority of organizing happening in Minnesota isn’t just peaceful, it’s INVISIBLE. Moms showing up who won’t be interviewed on TV, people whose ICE patrols don’t turn into viral video. The grocery runs, the donations, the people filming bc they happen to be there. Please remember this.

Public health/medical researchers support putting a pretty darn good NIH funding package at jeopardy for the greater good. It’s what healers do.
As a someone with a 33 year NIH-funded lab whose grant is supposed to be reviewed this week, shut NIH down if that is what's needed to end ICE terrorism. Innocent lives are more important 🧪
The Senate may choose to vote together on the DHS and LHHS bills. Thus, a filibuster on DHS may mean no funding for NIH. What my colleagues are saying:

“Shut it down, public health will understand. I’ll work without pay again.”

I’ve worked in medical centers in a role where I got to know many specialities, and I spent several horrible days sitting bed-side as the only family to a person in ICU — ICU nurses are simply phenomenal humans.
This is Minneapolis.

Literally every corner along Lake St. packed with people holding candles, many singing, honoring a person who by all accounts was an absolute gem of a human, whose life was tragically stolen by a fascist, paramilitary occupation force.

I spent the last year writing a book about the ridiculous demands of what it means to be masculine. But a guy who takes care of people who served our country, asks a woman “are you ok?” When she is in distress and looks out for his vulnerable neighbors seems like a pretty good role model for a man.

Not a fan of handing WH broad discretion over spending, which is what will happen if there’s a partial shutdown. Splitting out the different departments makes it so much harder to pass any … buckle up!

This is what I’ve been waiting and hoping for.
BREAKING: Minnesota, Minneapolis, and St. Paul lawyers escalate their request for an immediate TRO to temporarily halt Operation Metro Surge following today's ICE killing of Alex Pretti — noting three shootings by ICE in the past three weeks, after 11 months of no officer-involved shootings in Mpls.

You’re watching the administration lose control of the narrative in real time.

The more they show their supporters that they don’t give a shit about their gun rights, the worse it gets.

I’ve seen over a dozen right-wing commentators call out the propaganda. That’s progress.

Even the Barstool bros (whose founder Dave Portnoy voted for Trump three times) are lambasting ICE for their execution of Alex Pretti. This is breaking containment

And he didn’t. He tried to help a woman who’d just been assaulted. There was nothing rash, stupid, or radical about what he did. He showed kindness. And they killed him for it.

Pam Bondi just sent a letter to Minnesota officials saying ICE will leave if the state turns over its voter database to Trump.

Guess what? This has never been about safety or immigration. It’s a pretext for Trump to take over elections in swing states.

Our country was founded on resistance to a tyrant.
Attorney General Pam Bondi: "Our country was founded on law enforcement"
Bondi: "It's extremely organized. The signs they have are all matching, they're well written. And look at what's happening today. How did these people go out & get gas masks? These protesters. Would you know how to walk out on the street and buy a gas mask? Think about that. We're not gonna have it"

No fucking way. No fucking way. No fucking way.
BREAKING:

Pam Bondi has sent a letter to Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz demanding, in part, that state officials turn over voter records to the Justice Department.

It’s CONGRESS that can stop ICE and CBP deployment to MN. The Dems (and any responsible Rs?) should introduce legislation and agitate for a vote: “No federal funds may be used for further activities of ICE or CBP in the state of Minnesota, except for their prompt withdrawal.”

Also, may I say that I don’t agree with people saying ICE and CBP need “more training.” They’re doing exactly what this administration has trained them to—impose a reign of fear in blue cities. They don’t need more training. They need to be ripped up root and branch.

What's truly jaw dropping about this reporting is that, as @louiseseamster.bsky.social notes, the New York Times has in the past used one of these white supremacists (who had hacked and stolen data from Columbia University) when they were doing hit pieces on then candidate Mamdani.
An important and disturbing revelation—and this parenthetical is an interesting way for the NYT to represent how they themselves fell for the same race science group’s BS because they were looking so hard for anti-Mamdani smear content.
