People complain a lot about AAA games not respecting players time. But this is literally putting in an entirely pointless timesink into a game for the sole purpose of tricking players into wasting their time interacting with NPCs for no payoff.

AAA games don't disrespect the players as much as this
Buy a solo indie dev's game because I want to support them.

Find out it uses OpenAI to write "non-important NPC dialogue".

i take frenzy damage every time i see someone go "well i just use it for the boring stuff". what are you TALKING about? if it's boring or unimportant, why are you putting it in? NPC dialogue is fertile ground for worldbuilding, creating verisimilitude, conveying important information, and hijinks!!

(i feel like this is in a continuum with the whole hotdog/sandwich thing)
My hot take is that pies with meat in them are just dumplings.
What about pies with meat in them

This fight over “should authors get paid for their work” debate boils down to this: many, MANY people do not see art as labor.
If art isn’t labor, then you don’t have to change your political views to justify piracy. Easy peasy!

Many people don't see art as labour, AND many people don't get the concept of putting effort in up front so it can gradually earn itself out and then make a profit. There's a subconscious "the thing already exists, you didn't make it specially, therefore there's no right to keep earning from it".

Banks should not have the ability to unilaterally deny funding to people who have committed no crime.

It is bizarre that this is even an issue.
Friend tried to donate to my Throne, flagged by fraud detection at Bank of America — bank identified the transaction as specially for “giantess voretuber Ana Valens”

I suspect I faced those Patreon / Ko-fi dings b/c financial institutions have me, specifically, on record as a high risk recipient!
