It's a lovely morning and I am a horrible goose.

She/her. Trans.

I write things other people would like banned over at: https://archiveofourown.org/users/AnarchyGoose

I also have a blog: https://pwnao.blogspot.com

Minors DNI

Time for a new pinned: Hello!

I write. Sometimes weird porn, sometimes weird other stuff.

I play with and paint miniatures, quite badly on both counts.

I am English, sadly.

I sometimes talk about politics and regret it.

I am a real anarchist.

Whether I am a real goose, I leave to you.

HONK!
Trying to imagine just how disgusting a human being you have to be for parliamentary labour party members to think you are too much.
Exclusive: Labour politicians raised concerns about Keir Starmer’s plans to give Matthew Doyle a peerage in the weeks before it was confirmed, citing intimidating behaviour, particularly towards women.

I have finally finished Nona the Ninth.

That whole series is the first in a long while where I really don't know how to feel about it, other than that I enjoyed each subsequent book less than the last.

Wowee, who could've guessed that the law only matters if it can be enforced?
NEW: Hundreds of judges around the country have ruled more than 4,400 times since October that President Donald Trump’s administration is detaining immigrants unlawfully, a Reuters review of court records found.

The government keeps doing it nonetheless.

This might be the one that breaks me, I fear. I can't get it out of my mind. Taunting starving children with food just to make them more miserable.

There is no fate cruel enough for anyone involved in this.
On Thanksgiving, the immigrant children held at the Dilley detention center gathered in the gym for what they thought was a holiday feast.

The kids salivated over a spread of turkey, sandwiches, pastries and pies, a family told me.

But the food wasn’t for detainees — it was for the staff.

Man I really like the new Red Corsair minis but I am not paying £175 for a force that would need at least another £125 added to it to be vaguely playable.

Saw a quote from someone saying that 'Order is preferable to chaos' and that's all the excuse I need to ramble about the Discordian conception of chaos, which posits that order, itself, is merely a subset of chaos.

Buckle up, it's a wild ride but worthwhile I think.

The first step to understanding this theory is to understand that order as we see it in almost all contexts is imposed by humans in order to create a shorthand that we use to describe relationships between different things which share similarities.

A good example of this is biology.

Tomatoes are a kind of fruit, platypus are mammals that lay eggs, what exactly is a fish anyway?

These categorisations *are useful* and definitely have their place, but nature doesn't give a shit about any of them. Nature just trucks on and does its own thing.

Disorder, being the actual opposite to order, is when something doesn't fit the expected schema or structure for the categories that we as humans have placed it within.

But it is important to accept that when we are talking about order and disorder we are talking about human constructs, not reality

Which is where Chaos comes in.

Chaos is the coin, order and disorder are the faces upon it. Chaos is the full and unbounded totality of everything, that doesn't care what humans think about it, it just *is*.

Saying that order is preferable to chaos is like saying that oxygen is preferable to air.

You understand that you need oxygen. You understand that oxygen has a use.

But if you have too much oxygen you *will* choke yourself to death.

You have to be open to the possibility that you do not understand everything, because you can only see one side of it at a time: order, or disorder.

Embrace chaos. Embrace the wisdom of knowing that you do not - and nobody can - see everything, understand everything, and be everything.

Otherwise you're just deluding yourself.

It's always striking to me how little Todd Howard understands both stories in general and video games in specific.
Bethesda’s Todd Howard admits the studio was caught off guard by how much players hated the original Fallout 3 ending

“People hated it! They expected, like, ‘Why would the game end?!’ You know, ‘The other games don’t end!’”

It's true that Cinemasins-style "criticism" has done a lot to erode the actual useful concept of what a plot hole is, but if the ending to your story relies on the protagonist sacrificing themselves when someone who could flip the switch and not die is standing five feet away, sorry, that's on you
