Chasing the shiny bits in the dark. Punishing my legs for not being rocket packs. Passionate about density, transit, walkability, and cycling infrastructure.

Recovered “avid cyclist”. Big YIMBY.

So much of the way people vote is on the continuum of “I like the way things are” to “I want things to be different”, with very little thinking about how to get to “different”.

Mix in greed and entitlement and bigotry and fear, and you get things like Brexit or Trump.

Ridership on Seattle's Link Light Rail continues rising amid the system's many expansions, helping Seattle have the strongest year-on-year ridership growth of any major metro area in 2025!

Link ridership rose more than 27% in 2025, and its two lines will be connected in March!

Outside of tweaking some details, this is exactly how cars/trucks and driver licenses should work.

Big Car/Big House America is founded on insulating the people who have and want those things from the actual costs of them.

(Also extends to Big Gun/Big Cop America)
Introducing Sunny’s class three drivers license program.

the most important thing in 2028 is electing someone who is a true believer in the project of dismantling right-wing power. if you don't get that, then nothing else will matter very much.

Years ago I was part of a group ride to Sea-Tac where one person rode a tandem and we picked someone up.

It was a blast but also a total shitshow I would never ever attempt without a large group. The cycling infrastructure at the airport is non-existent, and for miles around it, bad.
Surely, the lack of pedestrian and public transit infrastructure at airports is one of the *most* absurd aspects of car dependency. From coast to coast, it's just taken for granted that if you're going somewhere and you can't take your car, you MUST use a taxi/rideshare or get someone to drive you.

all this country's problems with violence, fascism & oppressive policing are inextricably intertwined with "car brain"
law enforcement out of control- charging people who impede traffic during a protest with “false imprisonment” of the drivers.
In the Bay Area, local prosecutors have charged student protesters who participated in pro-Palestine demonstrations with felony-level charges that critics are warning are setting a dangerous template for law enforcement responses.

The kind of tree and affordable-housing destruction that the pro-tree, affordable-housing-only crowd is weirdly silent on.

Huh, I wonder why? 🤔
This should be getting a lot more attention but this road widening will plow over 91 homes in the apartment building just to the east of this interchange. We are bulldozing housing in a HOUSING CRISIS to save cars a few seconds @kromandavid.bsky.social @seattletimes.com
Seattle's current plans call for this...abomination...at the south end of the Ballard Bridge but Rep. Julia Reed, with input from Councilmember Strauss, just submitted a state transportation budget request to signalize the intersection.

These were also the rules I was taught learning to shoot with a .22 rifle whose butt had been broken and taped back together when my stepdad’s father shot a raccoon in a tree, and the raccoon ran down the tree and up his leg, and he golf swung the rifle, clubbing it in the head.
Three rules in FBI firearm training:

1. Always point your weapon downrange
2. Do not point your weapon at anything you do not intend to shoot
3. Don’t put your finger on the trigger unless you intend to shoot

Guns are not for threatening compliance for unarmed people doing things you don’t like
happening this morning in Minneapolis -- ICE agents drawing guns on observers. I reiterate again that it is only a matter of time before DHS kills more innocent people in Minnesota. Congress needs to shut this shit down right now.

Turns out you don’t even have to build it for them to come.

You just have to stop NIMBYs from throwing endless arbitrary barriers to building more.
After adopting housing reforms that included eliminating parking mandates and increased density limits throughout the city, Bothell has seen a major jump in pre-applications for residential projects.

Average number of units entering pre-application over the past 5 years: 580
In 2025: 1000+
