Chasing the shiny bits in the dark. Punishing my legs for not being rocket packs. Passionate about density, transit, walkability, and cycling infrastructure.

Recovered “avid cyclist”. Big YIMBY.

Capitol Hill but I’m not cool and only have one tattoo.

There’s absolutely more than one destination out there. Even at Snoqualmie Pass alone, there are several trailheads that are great to hike in the winter.

Plus all the trailheads on I90 on the way out.

Plus the snow park.

The fountainhead of all great rhetoric in Seattle.
One of the all time great Saka ramblings.

“AI is like a dragon in the sky in one of those heavy metal albums. Big and powerful and nobody understands it but it’s going to change everything. Glistening like a curb in the rain.”

It’s impossible to see this video and not think or say: “maybe I should rewatch BSG again…” 🤔

That cat definitely can’t have a cheeseburger.

Because they’re probably long dead, as all the OG internet cats are now.

Cinesthetic is regularly pedo-coded, in addition to just being trash, so it tracks that he’d engage with that and not, say, Every Frame a Painting or something that actually has something good and interesting to say about film.

Is anyone else annoyed at how the artist drew all the bicycles basically the same?

Based on my own anecdotal experiences in public restrooms, only about 20% of men wash their hands.

Maybe 50-60% will splash some water on their fingertips.

The rest don’t do anything.

Why would we commit serious reporting time to accidents that are 100% the fault of the victims?

Even a lot of serious attempts at interpreting that chart blame personal behavior (phones! speeding!) rather than the vast institutional failures of every regulator and DOT in the United States.

Elon is so car-brained he can’t even tell a computer that he owns to create a fantasy for him of a woman expressing affection for him where she isn’t standing in the middle of car traffic.

We could one-up Hoboken by also rebuilding our traffic light intersections to have lights on the near side of the intersection, giving drivers a selfish incentive to not block the crosswalk.

And then other cities could refer to The Full Seattle.

And rain capes would not work for me at all. Seattle’s infrastructure is such that I frequently have to take the lane and ride at 30 - 35 mph with traffic, and I don’t want a huge flapping thing when I’m already dealing with all the other hazards of Seattle biking.

While I do pants when it gets into the 50s F and colder, this is my strategy as every piece of “rain gear” I’ve ever tried isn’t particularly breathable nor particularly waterproof, so they turn me into a sauna before wetting out.

Wool and wool-like synthetics is my approach.

My vote would be for Uncle Sam or Columbia to have mass appeal to more centrists, but protesters would also be a great choice. And then specific people who are major figures in the Chicago protests (like Kat) could be among them.
