You and your wife drop your 6-year-old off at school. You just moved here. You see ICE terrorizing your new neighbors. You film them, as is your legal right. Your wife complies with orders. She is then shot in the head. You still have to pick up your child later today.

This could be you.

A decade ago, a Judge had to ORDER Customs and Border Patrol to stop putting themselves in the way of fleeing vehicles to create a "justification" for shooting people.

A fucking DECADE ago.

ICE thinks they can just murder us all if need be.

It's so fucking convenient that they get to "fear for their lives" anytime they want to absolve themselves of anything and when we actually fear for our lives because of them and do anything a scared person would do it's justification for our death.

Law enforcement officers CANNOT use deadly force against a fleeing person fleeing unless they have a reasonable belief that the individual poses a danger to others (e.g., they know the person is armed). If in vehicle, the person must be threatening to use deadly force with the vehicle or other means

Absolutely. One way that could start is having state AGs prosecute this stuff. Force the Feds to argue they have Supremacy Clause Immunity. Then re-litigate the issue every single time new ICE crimes happen.

Still gotta fight as if it matters, but I understand the cynicism and the reasons for it
Hope you're right about it being a turning point. But given the number of people murdered by law enforcement every year, history is not inspiring

I call on @mayorjacobfrey.bsky.social to marshal every resource at his disposal to seek justice for the victim, their family, and community. We cannot allow men dressed in paramilitary gear to enter our city and murder on a whim.

I do not have high hopes that law enforcement will act against ICE.

ICE just murdered a woman here in Minneapolis. A legal observer. Shot her multiple times while she drove away as ordered. She was a US citizen.

Absolute, unequivocal, cold-blooded murder by Trump’s gestapo.

Abolish ICE, jail for everyone in charge. This is the lowest bar we accept now.

1/ This guy has an SS tattoo on his neck, but that aside: CA just passed a law stating that federal immigration agents wearing masks (except medical) lose qualified immunity, meaning they can be sued.

And I gotta think that the sedition hunting is going to make life very uncomfortable for many.
An off-duty ICE agent was just confronted in Minneapolis after people noticed a Nazi SS lightning bolt tattoo on his neck.

If you’re proud enough to ink it on your neck, why are you running when people notice?

"If you want to know who took all of your money, it's the people with all of the money."

I keep thinking about this post and how it's one of the best, most succinct messages Democrats could use in 2026 campaigns.
If you want to know who took all of your money, it's the people with all of the money. Famously, we know that's people working in child care.

Minnesota Republicans and Donald Trump are right now pretending to care about fraud. Fraud is bad. The shit in MN was terrible. But … let’s me clear that they don’t actually care.
GOP operatives Jacob Wohl and Jack Burkman, convicted election fraudsters, were paid $960,000 in the second quarter to secure a pardon for a former nursing-home operator who defrauded the government of $38 million. Trump pardoned the man, Joseph Schwartz, last month.

And trans lives are grounded in reality.

A reminder that most Americans who are life-long citizens have nothing OTHER than a Real ID to prove their citizenship. This is CBP’s chief enforcer saying that ID doesn’t count.
Bovino, the man overseeing mass deportations, publicly declared that we must all have our papers on us, at all times, or we could be stopped, harassed, kidnapped, and detained, as they did with the man in this case, who is a US citizen.
