Apparently, the way to deal with a slippery surface is to narrow the path and cause conflict between users 🤷

I mean, this bridge is barely a few years old, did no one actually bother to check if the surface would be suitable for walking and cycling in Manchester weather?

📯Huge Opportunity for Public Space Improvement

Do you want to see a joined-up #BeeNetwork in #GreaterManchester?

Then have your say on this impressive proposal for Seymour Grove.

It's ambitious on paper, but local Councillors need confidence that there's public backing to approve it.

There are places that have achieved Vision Zero. Oslo is one of them. Floating bus stops are part of the solution, not the problem. Stop making vulnerable road users fight over scraps of space while prioritizing the mode of transport that kills most.

We have also submitted written evidence today. We are extremely concerned about these exclusionary amendments which would make comprehensive safe cycling for children, families & many disabled people impossible.

Right I'm so pissed off that we've got London MPs trying to hijack the Local Buses Bill (which is supposed to be about STUFF OUTSIDE LONDON for a change) to try to ban London / all floating bus stops (utter nonsense), that I've stayed up late writing evidence for the committee. Join me! Link ⬇️
Here's another one near Yarnton. Is the mother I met today who cycles here with her baby supposed to divert into the A44? How?

Come and see what bus stops exist outside London before making amendments which could honestly kill children in my division.

It should be boring but important stuff about running bus services with a model that suits each area.

Good to see that the new Deansgate / Quay St junction gives pedestrians and cycles 2 stages in every full cycle of the lights, so even though I missed this first green light letting pedestrians cross, it was only 25 seconds before another green light 🚦

Having almost been hit by a taxi driving on the wrong side of a traffic island while crossing here,it’s good to see the pedestrian improvements.

Having actually been hit by a car here while cycling (thankfully unhurt) the bike aspects are really disappointing given the space available.
Disappointing to see a key junction connecting several parts of the city centre cycle network redesigned without protected cycling infrastructure.

After the great progress on Deansgate, this feels like a step backward for @mancitycouncil.bsky.social

Would really love to see these expanded to Swinton.

The idea of having satellite zones in places with new infrastructure such as Rochdale is also interesting.
Great to see 300 new 2nd generation bee bikes are to be added to cycle hire scheme from May, along with plans starting to take shape for zone expansion.

We’d love to see the scheme expanded further into Salford to open up cycle hire to those living in Salford’s towns.
