Out door knocking yesterday for the Ridgeway by-election, I spoke to a resident who said "we've been let down for so many years now." - This person lives in a house that cost well over a million pounds. If even the people living in the big houses feel that way, how do you think poor people feel?

Labour aren’t even pretending any more. Here’s a handy list of Oxfordshire County votes for a motion brought by the Conservative Alliance published on the Reform councillor’s FB page. Labour voting with Tories, the nutters from the IOA (their chair is an anti-vaxxer and Covid denier) and Reform. 🤷♀️

Car culture is wild. Coz wdym the M&S Christmas advert is celebrating a huge traffic jam (which generally means a very serious, often fatal collision) and promoting people exit their cars on the motorway.

I think my colleague and I broke our boss when he tried to get us to make changes to a ppt we had been working on together, but we're not having it. Boss, finally: "It's quite subjective and i feel a 2v1 Friday afternoon mutiny coming my way so go with yours!" .... More power to the women, BAM!✊

For illustrative purposes: a million seconds is 11 and a half days. A billion seconds is 31 years and 8 months. A trillion seconds is 31,710 years. Billionaires should not exists. Trillionaires, even more so.

Conservative Alliance played their usualy game of wasting valuable council time on meaningless leaflet and social media post fodder by presenting a motion to scrap the congestion charge a mere 6 days after it was implemented.
And that’s the end of the meeting, with no time for motions on Abingdon Reservoir, pavement weed clearance, mental health, or community cohesion. Thanks for following along!

Don't tell us about "trust". Here we have Cllr Baines' picture on a leaflet that tells outright lies. Oxford Greens proposed in fact an amendment to include _additional_ disadvantaged groups into the bus motion proposed by Labour.

Absolute scenes in Oxfordshire. LABOUR voting WITH TORIES and the car brained IOA to remove a traffic intervention designed to speed up buses, and was recommended by 74% in the citizens assembly THEY ASKED FOR, AND that has already been praised by the BUS companies, after SIX days.
The vote on Oxford’s Congestion Charge is taken and goes broadly along party lines.
For removing the charge: 22 (Con, Lab, Ind)
Against removing the charge: 36 (LibDem, Green, Henley)
Abstain: 2 (Will Boucher-Giles, LibDem for Chesterton; Emma Markham, Green for Shrivenham)

"let’s see how the next election goes for him" - this TORY has a sense of humour 😂
We’re moving to the summing up now. Cllr Liam Walker (Con, Hanborough): “Cllr Gant – I don’t know where to start that wouldn’t get me into trouble with the Monitoring Officer, but let’s see how the next election goes for him. The Green Party want to charge more for large cars – absolutely nuts.”

Doesn't this absolutely sum up everything
Cllr Gant continues: “The Tories have called for free Park & Rides before; here they are. Labour have called for better buses; here they are – ‘We want less congestion, we want better public transport, but only if we don’t have to do anything about it.’ ”

unhinged.
Cllr Kieron Mallon (Con, Banbury Calthorpe): “I rarely come into Oxford. If you live in a market town, be very afraid. Shut down Banbury, then Bicester, and Witney, and Abingdon, and Didcot – these things don’t happen in isolation. This is part of a wider programme.”

I’m sure this sounded like a gotcha, but the park and ride with free bus travel is still a better deal for those coming from outside Oxford than those who live within the city and take the bus.
Cllr Thomas Ashby (Con, Witney West): “Many of our residents travel into Oxford regularly. Driving is often the only practical choice. The scheme risks deepening rural inequalities. The so-called free Park & Ride isn’t what it seems, because you still need to pay for parking.”

Cllr Henwood: can't have air that's too clean, that would be woke or something and must be opposed. (hey, Cllr, quick side question though, what made the Oxford electric bus rollout possible in the first place? ... ..... spoiler: it was the promise of reduced congestion but you already knew that.)
Cllr David Henwood (IOA, Littlemore) is the seconder. “Oxford has already exceeded Government targets for cleaner air, so what is the need for this new charge? Instead of taxing movement, the council should make buses cheaper and more reliable. The electric bus rollout shows what can be achieved.”
